Well Otto the percent you win by is irrelevant the simple unvarnished truth is the Democrats lost more seats under Obama in 2010 than the Republicans did under Trump in 2018. As for gerrymandering both parties do that the party controls the state legislature draws the lines if one side thinks they are unfair they can challenge it in court or win state elections and flip the legislature so they can do it.

Not a wave but just a little blue ripple that will entirely pass in the 2020 election. If it had been a wave, it would have swept over the Senate where the Republicans had far more seats at risk than the Democrats.

That is complete bullshit. Democrat incumbents ran in red states. It is not at all surprising that the Dems made no gains in the senate.

The Democrats lost a net of 3 Senate seats to Republicans so far. Your little blue ripple crashed on the red shores of America.

If we took an overall picture of all the elections that had taken place in 2018, Republicans lost no more than 5 Governor races AND democrats couldn’t take the blue state of Maryland (interesting). The Republicans also started with a 238 majority in the House (238 to 193), while the democrats were able to acquire a 231 majority in 2018. So while Democrats lost both the house and senate under President Obama, Democrats could only win one branch of government of a smaller majority under President Trump. Is this the big blue wave you’re referring to?
