Israel's War Against Hamas - Updates

The Knesset approved a non-binding motion in favor of annexing the West Bank on Wednesday, a symbolic gesture that united the otherwise fractious right-wing governing coalition.

The resolution, which passed 71-13, declared that the West Bank is “an inseparable part of the Land of Israel, the historical, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people” and that “Israel has the natural, historical and legal right to all of the territories of the Land of Israel.”

It called on the government to “apply Israeli sovereignty, law, judgment and administration to all the areas of Jewish settlement of all kinds in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley,” the government’s term for the West Bank. The motion was advanced by Religious Zionism MK Simcha Rothman, Likud MK Dan Illouz and opposition Yisrael Beytenu MK Oded Forer.

Israel captured the West Bank from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War, and the territory is now estimated to be home to more than 500,000 Israeli settlers, in addition to millions of Palestinians. Much of the international community says Israel is illegally occupying the territory and views the settlements as violations of international law, which Israel disputes.

“This is our land. This is our home. The Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel,” Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana said after the vote. “In 1967, the occupation did not begin; it ended, and our homeland was returned to its rightful owners. We are the original first natives of this piece of land. Jews cannot be the ‘occupier’ of a land that for 3,000 years has been called Judea.”

This is good news indeed, even if it is largely symbolic. It is important to correct the discourse and steer it back to Israel's rights.

Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu says Israel is advancing the annihilation of Gaza, calling for the Strip to be made totally Jewish.

“The government is racing ahead to wipe out Gaza,” Eliyahu tells Haredi radio station Kol Barama. “Thank God, we are wiping out this evil. We are erasing this population that has been educated on Mein Kampf.”

Eliyahu says Gaza will be cleared for Jewish settlement, but says Jewish towns won’t be “fenced in inside cantons.”

“All Gaza will be Jewish,” he says, though he clarifies that Arabs who are loyal to Israel will be tolerated.

“We aren’t racists,” the Otzma Yehudit politician adds.

Eliyahu also denies that Gazans are not getting enough food, calling it a campaign against Israel, but notes that we are at war and trying to kill “these monsters.”

“There’s no hunger in Gaza,” he says. “But we don’t need to be concerned with hunger in the Strip. Let the world worry about it.”

We aren't racist but Jews only. There's no hunger in Gaza but if there is then great.

Absolute psycho shit.

Of course cannot talk about Palestinian rights when they don't have any.

Of course Palestinians have rights. They have individual civil rights. And they have a moral right to self-determination and even a State (if they can manage to create one, which so far they haven't). They do NOT have a right to destroy Israel, and they have no legal claim to Israel's territory.

The Heritage Minister is pretty vile and has made unacceptable statements, as far as I understand.

But, for clarity, you are opposed to Jews and Arabs living together peacefully in Gaza as a solution to this seemingly never-ending conflict?

Or perhaps…Oct. 7 didn’t happen or if it did, it was an Israeli operation, or if Palestinians did it, then it was freakdom fighting and Israel deserved it.

The mentality of the pro Palestinian lunatic encapsulated.
