120,000 bodies.
Even the Syrians are fed up with Palestinians whining over every scratch while they're struggling to collect their organs from the streets.
The comparison is an insult to the Syrians.
More than half of the casualties in the Syrian conflict have been combatants. Since the Syrian Arab Army is fighting against a real military force, there are combatant casualties on both sides and civilian casualties caused by both sides. In Gaza, on the other hand 80% of the casualties were civilians killed by the Israelis. And, stop making things up. Killing hundreds of children at a time like the Israelis do is not a "scratch". But, that's how you people think, the killing of non-Jewish children is a "scratch" but God forbid a Jewish kid is killed. Disgusting racists.
Death Tolls
2016 alone: 16,913 civilians killed
1,984 children and 1,237 women
It's not that civilian lives don't matter, it's that pushing the false narrative that the IDF deliberately targets them as a matter of policy doesn't help the cause at all. Meanwhile next door 55,000 children have been killed since the start of the conflict. Civilians are beseiged and starved in cities. And people quibble about the horrible Israelis and horrible Palestinians and try to make comparisons where comparisons simply aren't possible when in Syria schools and hospitals have been confirmed to have been deliberately targeted not once, not twice but until there are none left in the city to care for the wounded.
Look at how many children (not to mention women and others) who were killed when Israel bombed their homes. Bombing civilian homes is a deliberate attack on civilians. There is no question about it.
Remember These Children 2014 Memorial
It's a mixed bag. For example, Operation Cast Lead opened up a lot of investigations into unethical and careless targeting and the use of white phospherous that was reprehensible. But on the other hand - the Palestinian fighters DO mix among the civlilians and Gaza is densely populated making it hard to avoid civilian casualties.
I think in order to be fair we need to consider several points:
- Israel has developed extremely precise weaponry to reduce such casualties
- Israel has a right to protect it's civilian population when it's attacked just has the Palestinians have a right to protect themselves.
Every child killed is a tragedy, whether it's Jewish, Palestinian or Syrian. And it's a crime when they are deliberately targeted.
