They had most of those "freedoms" during the mandate or are you accusing the British of imposing "dhimmitude" restricting their "freedom to worship" and "freedom to live how they chose"? You either have serious comprehension issues or are completely ignorant of historical fact. Fanatical extremist followers of the Judaic Temple cult who rebelled against Rome were either killed or enslaved. if you believe Flavius Josephus, the majority of the Temple cult were wiped out in the seige and aftermath of the rebellion. Enough cultists clearly survived to rebel again 70 years later when the Romans lost patience and all but exterminated the cult in Judea in 136CE. Judeans not involved in the Temple cult were left alone, as were those living abroad who had not participated in the Kitos rebellion that occured in the intervening years.

Judaism survived in it's "rabbinic" form amongst Judean ex-patriates and converts within the Roman empire, Persia and (ironically) Arabia.
