Historically speaking, and as a general reminder, Israel, with the help of the United States, created Hamas to counteract Arafat.

Ultimately the United States, spreading so-called ''democracy'' as it does, encouraged the Palestinians to have ''free and fair elections'' and they elected Hamas which became dominant.

It's comparable to when the United States was allied with Bin Ladin back in the 80s and radicalized the Muslims in order to compete with the Soviets by financing the Madrasa schools.

Anyway. For all of the ''reporting'' that will dominate the airwaves regarding these current goings-on, rest assured that none of the history I've mentioned here will be given so much as a whisper.

That the state department directed Israel to stand down only demonstrates an extention or a continuation of the same old geo-political shenanigans.

Placing that aside, I imagine Zelensky is crapping bricks now as this, predictably, provides the administration as well as their extentions/purveyors in western media a convenient ''out.''

I don't think the administration gave Iran all of that taxpayer loot for nothing. I think it likely just bought itself an opportunity to play on the emotions of the taxpayer to generate another one of those so-called ''unity'' moments that it so desperately needs, given the electorate's blowback regarding the hundreds of billions being stolen from them at the barrel of a government gun to fund that whole scam.
