Peace be upon Muhammad, his family, his Companions. Muslims are asked to pray on Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) whenever he is mentioned. That is the least one can do. We ask for our leader, our master, our king, peace. Peace is the ideal and the objective of a Muslim. Islam is a religion of peace, between people and between nations.

The Night of Power (Surah 97), V 5
"For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity"

The Holy Hadiths
We find in the Hadiths, which are the sayings of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family):
"the Muslim is he from whose hands and tongue others are safe."
"Your blood, your honor and your property are sacred"
The Holy Sharia
One of he 5 lies allowed in some schools of Sharia (the Holy Islamic Law) is to lie in order to make peace between people.
Al Mahdi (peace be upon him and his family)
Al Mahdi (peace be upon him and his family) is currently the king of mankind, the king of the world, the king of the universe. This was done without shedding blood.
The Traditional Knowledge in Islam
It is forbidden in Islam to feel anger towards someone. That would be unbelief, because belief is that God Almighty did that, not the one who offended you, and belief is that God Almighty does only what is best for one. Of course, it's another thing when God punishes one. One is forbidden to hate someone. Someone who dies having hate in his heart is punished by snakes and scorpions the instant he dies. One is under the obligation to forgive, because the ultimate does of it was God Almighty, not the offender. It is a matter of obligations and forbiddens.
You see that this marvelous Islam deserves its name, The Religion of Peace.
Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) was a brilliant war leader and politician. That was a heavenly matter. He went to war because God ordered him to. The miraculous spread of Islam to far ends of the world in less than 100 years, the Ottoman glory and the rise of great Muslim populations around the world is a clear proof of it. Look at all the leaders and the kings in the history of mankind. None of them remains people's favorite after a while, be it Caesar, Martin Luther King, Winston Churchill, Che Guevara or Ghandi.
