ISIS declares creation of new Islamic state

Early in the last century the European powers destroyed the Islamic Caliphate and divided the land between themselves by drawing up artificial borders.

The muslim people have had a longing for the restoration of the Caliphate for a hundred years.

Now the dream is being revived right in the heart of the Middle East. ...

Not a pretty picture if you consider the armenian genocide or the brutality of the the brutality of Mehmed II.
That's all ancient history by todays standards and has nothing to due with the current events happening now. ..

STUFF THAT HAS GONE ON IN THE PAST 100 YEARS IS NOT "ancient" HISTORY----
IT IS MODERN HISTORY.

We never should have invaded Iraq in the first place. All it did was destabilize the entire area and empower the Muslim extremist we were trying to defeat. Talk about blowback. Great move, Bush.

Islamic conquest has never been a pretty picture. One of the reasons this goofy mini-caliphate will self-destruct is that it is not following the islamist pattern of conquer and convert.

Islam tended to take territory first with conversions coming later. For a significant period of time after the initial conquests of Muhammud and the first Caliphs, most of the moslem dominions were in fact minority moslem. This fact proved beneficial to the growth of the early moslem empire, as the economic structure of Islamic governance, with the jizya, or poll-tax on non-believers, and later under the Ottoman Empire the devshirme, or forced conscription of Christian subjects into the Janissaries, was essentially parasitic.

Historically, when moslems were required to innovate scientific or cultural developments, they failed spectacularly. The moslem economic, social and scientific vitality was almost entirely dependent on the exploitation of non-moslems.
There is lot of mistakes in your comment.

History of the Jews under Muslim rule
By the time of the Muslim conquests of the 7th century, ancient Jewish communities had existed in many parts of the Middle East and North Africa since Antiquity. Jews under Islamic rule were given the status of dhimmi, along with certain other pre-Islamic religious groups.[1] As such, these groups were accorded certain rights as "people of the book".

During waves of persecution in Medieval Europe, many Jews found refuge in Muslim lands.[2] For instance, Jews expelled from the Iberian Peninsula were invited to settle in various parts of the Ottoman Empire, where they would often form a prosperous model minority of merchants acting as intermediaries for their Muslim rulers.

Today, Jews residing in Muslim countries have been reduced to a small fraction of their former sizes, with Iran and Turkey being home to the largest remaining Jewish populations.

the "jewish obsession" that afflicts muslims is intriguing. An interesting observation I made
in my youth ----at a time I encountered lots and lots of muslims from places ---including
places that has no jewish populations------like Pakistan, north India etc ------those people
are actually TAUGHT stuff about JOOOOOS in school. They 'know' all about
JOOOOOS from the fact that joooos own all the banks----extensive workings of the
mossad in Karachi they also know that all the jewish writings are entirely
fraudulent-----from the bible to the Talmud and even the dead sea scrolls -----a massive
program to "defeat islam"-----OVER THE PAST 4000 YEARS

You weaken your argument by limiting your knowledge to what you find on Wiki.
Firstly, I'd sugggest you research the term "dhimmi" as it applies to non-moslems living under the rule of backward sharia law. Put that term into an internet search engine. See what you find. Then, do a search with the term fascism in your search engine. When you have finished performing the above tasks, take some time to study the results of your first web search. Then consider the results returned in your second web search. Your last task will be to place the term epiphany in your search engine and consider that result.

There are several rules of subjugation in sharia law which reduce the dhimmi to the status of a second-class citizen. Transgression of these unfair and dehumanizing rules nullifies the falsely portrayed comments in your post.

Virtually without exception, all non-muslims in Islamic states have been subjected to harsh and humiliating treatment. Islam has been, and is currently, inherently intolerant to non-Muslims. When the dhimmi is unfortunate enough to live under Islamic law, they are subjected to oppressive and humiliating circumstances, and their killing can be religiously justified under the flimsiest of pretexts.

There is no tolerance or peace for other viewpoints in this method of government. It's either Allah's way, or the sword's way. You can live in Muslim lands™ as an inferior second-class citizen with extremely limited rights if you are a dhimmi, but if you're an atheist, a polytheist, a homosexual, or any sort of person outside of the Muslim or dhimmi groups, you are fair game for slavery or murder under Islamic shari'ah law.
There is not a single Muslim majority nation on the planet that promotes equal rights for all citizens – not a one.

As to your odd notions regarding "science" in the islamist world, here again you need to broaden your horizons beyond Wiki.

If you were able to perform some honest assessments about the politico-religious ideology of islamism, you would discover that it’s not a matter of crediting the islamist world for advancements, it never performed but rather, it’s a function of history. The point is, the islamist world’s alleged “golden age” coincided with its most ruthless and bloody conquests. Flush with knowledge that was gained through the conquest of foreign lands, that knowledge was co-opted by islamist “scholars” as well as knowledge that was already part of the historical record as part of discoveries by the great Greek thinkers and mathematicians.

When the islamist world was left to innovate and discover on its own, they quickly found that they were not up to the task. That’s precisely why the islamist world has been left in its own Dark Ages while the rest of the world has advanced.

My favorite example of the ineptitude of moslems as innovators is exampled by the discussion of optics as a science. It poses yet another inexplicable challenge to the claims of “Islamic innovation.” It is undeniable that Moslems collected and preserved much of the science and theology innovated by the Greeks. That enabled them to collect some understanding of physics and light that constitute “classical optics.” Yet they failed to make pragmatic use of any of that knowledge. They understood from the Greeks the mathematics of light, lenses, prisms, mirrors, reflection and refraction… but never managed to invent a single telescope, microscope, or pair of spectacles. All of these were later European inventions, making use of the knowledge passed to them by Islamic scholars who do not appear to have known what to do with it.
