I was raised Irish Catholic, serving Mass from a young age. 16 years of Catholic education including 4 years with the Jesuits. Lost my religion at about age 35. Secular humanism could be accurate, but I prefer to call myself a Deist, in the tradition of many of the founding fathers. I find the spirit of life in nature, in the ocean in which I swim, in the woods, in the mountains. I believe in the Creator, but find priests and churches human constructs that are often abusive and wicked.
