Zone1 Is Your Body a Temple or a Graveyard?

Peter ate bread and olives and some vegetables occasionally.

Matthew ate nuts, seeds and fruit and vegetables

You might want to think about WHY

There's significant evidence that the original Jesus Movement and well-known apostles were vegetarians. And furthermore, this vegetarianism of the disciples and Jesus Movement is fairly widely known in antiquity, mentioned by historians, scriptures, and early church fathers. Today we explore the teachings of Jesus's brother James the Just and the original Aramaic-speaking Christians of Jerusalem: Christianity-Before-Paul.

So, none of them ate fish? Why did Jesus and the disciples feed the 5000 fish with the bread. Couldn't they have prepared a veggie dish? Why did Jesus refer to "fish" and "egg" when talking about what children ate?

"What God provided that is being proclaimed as "permission", which only applies to having something without any blood (Genesis 9:4)
Genesis 9:3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

That doesn't change God's perfect will or what God WANTS, which is crystal clear both in the beginning (pre-fall) and in the end (in the prophetic scriptures about when Jesus returns.)

In the same way that God allows divorce, but it is not what He wants, God allows a number of things in this fallen world that are far less than ideal.

Just a few verses before that, God just finished saying that every inclination of the human heart is evil. So that makes it look like God is "giving us over" to our selfish desires... which obviously is not a good thing, it's not what God wants from us.

That said, there are different interpretations of that verse, which I'm not going to go through right now, but suffice it to say, not everyone holds the mainstream carnist view on that passage.

When Jesus later recounted that incident (Matthew 16:8-10) He didn't say anything about fish, only the loaves.

Also, church father Irenaeus and other early Christian writers made no mention of fish, only the loaves, in their writings.

So, there is evidence to suggest that the earliest manuscripts (which are no longer in existence) did not include fish, but that it was a later interpolation.

There is also evidence (as Carl brought up) that early Christianity looked a lot different than the Christianity of today, once Rome took over.

So, people who are miserable in their marriage (for whatever reason) should remain married in order to maintain "God's perfect will"? I think many would accept eternal death if they could just get a divorce.

God gave animals to eat so Israel could prosper (the "cattle on a thousand hills"). Agrarian societies throughout history have prospered by including animals in their agriculture and their diets. They are also the healthiest for doing so. Animals were and still are 'currency' in many cultures.

Being knocked unconscious instantly and dying painlessly is a good death for an animal.

Fish was the primary source of protein in the region in that time. Peter and others were fishermen. Jesus helped them catch fish. Jesus was given a fish to eat.

Rome took over the visible church but not true Christianity. Rome persecuted the true church and will again. :omg:

When people think of "the church" they imagine the Roman church and h
her many daughters, not the people who compromised the Jerusalem church and it's practices.

That was a message to Noah (not you) after the great flood. Do you think there were crops to pick after a WORLDWIDE FLOOD?

Isn't it possible to make it a happier marriage?

Yes, there can be plenty of interpretations being based on various verses. And it hardly will ever be a common one.

It's not what we eat that kills us. It's how we eat, how much we eat, and when we eat. After you swallow your food it's all chemistry from there on down.

Also, it's not wise to invoke scripture to make a point for veganism as the NT scripture supports eating meat.

Actually what some eat is killing them. Information to pay attention to is being selectively considered or ignored. Home is a site you choose to ignore, though it is with basis of doctors who have saved people's lives with the healthy way of eating whole foods from plants and avoiding processed stuff for food with the additives and avoiding animal products. There are very convincing studies showing this way is much healthier and associated with avoiding health problems that are otherwise common and even ultimately fatal. There is protein but there are also unhealthy things in animal products, while the protein is available from the primary producers of food, which is made from sunshine with presence of carbon dioxide in the immediate vicinity, with adequate water and essential minerals being present.

New testament scriptures support sensitivity and compassion much more, and not ignoring others with insensitive disregard. You may quote Paul for your point, I don't know who else, but Paul said he was ready to give up having meat, for the sake of others. Nothing after that was showing that he did not. Not having any blood is also said for believers, in the new testament of the Bible, and it directly ties to excluding anything with blood said even for any people in Genesis. Compassion for animals is expressed, and one has to just ignore the original design being shown to start with and prophecies in scriptures showing return to that in restoration from God for creation, where repentant redeemed may come, through Christ. It is good to mean it when praying to God 'Your will on earth as it is in Heaven.' There is no killing or suffering in Heaven as prophecies show that will be what is restored for creation, which is now groaning for that, with hope, which God will fulfill.

There is really no assurance that this keeps happening this way.
Fish was the primary source of protein in the region in that time. Peter and others were fishermen. Jesus helped them catch fish. Jesus was given a fish to eat.

If he was offered that and it was not added words to honeycomb that was offered, he ate 'it' and not them. He asked for something to eat, nothing specific, and it is not shown what he was eating.
