Is there anybody creating devices to store energy out there.

Which can't run long enough to matter on the following, Dryer, Heater, Water Heater, Stove not worth the money much cheaper to get a backup generator instead.
So, you have a several weeks long grid failure for you whole area. Where are you going to get gas for that generator? Not only that, but all you have to do is add batteries to run all of that. And the batteries are getting less costly as more manufacturers are building them. Yes, it is still a major investment now, but less than a generation ago, only the rich could afford an EV. Today, 20% of the autos sold in the world are EV's. And as the panels increase in efficiency, the batteries in capacity, and both become less costly, roof top solar will not only become a way to avoid the cost of electricity, but also to make extra money from the contributions to the grid. More EV's now are featuring the capability to serve as a storage battery to a home or business. You can nay say all you want, but that is what is happening at a very fast rate.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

What a word salad bromide that was as you didn't address my post at all, just a stupid PR post is all it is.

I am called a denier, proudly so. I want you hostile people to stop trying to frighten Americans to death. You have kept this up since Clinton was in office and nothing you predicted took place.
What you are really saying is that you are a dumb ass willfully ignorant buffoon. Dr. James Hansen made these predictions in 1981. The only thing he missed on is that they have come to be much sooner than he predicted.

Hansen, J., D. Johnson, A. Lacis, S. Lebedeff, P. Lee, D. Rind, and G. Russell, 1981: Climate impact of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide. Science, 213, 957-966, doi:10.1126/science.213.4511.957.

The global temperature rose 0.2°C between the middle 1960s and 1980, yielding a warming of 0.4°C in the past century. This temperature increase is consistent with the calculated effect due to measured increases of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Variations of volcanic aerosols and possibly solar luminosity appear to be primary causes of observed fluctuations about the mean trend of increasing temperature. It is shown that the anthropogenic carbon dioxide warming should emerge from the noise level of natural climate variability by the end of the century, and there is a high probability of warming in the 1980s. Potential effects on climate in the 21st century include the creation of drought-prone regions in North America and central Asia as part of a shifting of climatic zones, erosion of the West Antarctic ice sheet with a consequent worldwide rise in sea level, and opening of the fabled Northwest Passage.

$9,000 plus shipping and handling then installation.
And that's only one. I have a 65khw battery backup for my solar system, which will power my place for about 5 days with zero input. And it was very expensive.

But, I live in earthquake country and the grid fails frequently during the storms here.

Yet, despite you crying it is so, it aint. The proof nothing happened. Too funny. Moron

Old Rocks is busy changing the subject after getting destroyed in the Climate Change debate...

Tesla has done quite well in residential energy storage. The Tesla power wall.
Yep, but nope. I'd get one but they cost more than I could save. I still pay next to nothing for electricity thanks to my aging solar panel setup. My electricity bills give Sunsettommy heart palpitations.

As A CA RE Broker, who showed CA mountain property, the homes I showed to a deadbeat person, one had solar supplied electric current. I see no way tract homes would do such a thing.

Not the case for me. But all you needed to scare the hell out everybody is talking like Hansen talked. What have you personally done to save yourself?

Tract homes can, it's just expensive. My friend in Disco Bay has a solar system, and it works well for him, but, he has no room for a battery back up, so he is dependent on the grid at night.
