Echoing Pope Benedict XVI’s repeated calls to end the ongoing bloodshed in the Gaza Strip, Vatican Justice and Peace Minister Cardinal Renato Martino urged both the Israeli government and Hamas to show more willingness toward peace talks and for the world to help them come an agreement that would end the ongoing Israeli invasion.

He also expressed concerns about the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, saying “let’s look at the conditions in Gaza: these increasingly resemble a big concentration camp.”

And yet the statement does not list a single fact other then they eventually found some children that needed attention. No evidence that the Israeli military had ever known, no evidence that they should have known, just an opinion that somehow via magic they should have known.

Last I checked the Israelis are not knocking down every door and entering every house or building. The Red Cross IS biased and is making statements oif Opinion that retards like you try to claim are facts.

As much as I understand the right to defend ones self and as much as I understand the ill doings of Hamas, the analogy of the end result for the citizens in Gaza is a correct one. I know it is upsetting to many to hear it stated that way, but, I think they did that as an attention getting, because they so much want to see a way for peace to prevail. I'm not a fan of the power brokers of the Catholic Church, but, that is how I see the comments.

The Palestinian people themselves need to choose between a PLO leadership which is willing to work towards peace or Hamas who will only keep the situation as a repeat of what is taking place now. They need to be realistic about the situation and broker deals which are proactive based on reality and fact, not emotion and long lingering hate.

In turn, if that step is taken, then the powers of the world need to hold Israel accountable and responsible to act in good faith as well.

Now it seems that those on the other side in Lebanon are going to begin to get involved, if Israel feels the need to totally let go and protect herself, the results could be damning for Lebanon and the Gaza area.
