I don't bring emotion into my reasoning .. and I have been very cordial to people on the left in this thread ..
^^ Your feelz. Took me about 11 seconds to find them.the shooter probably has the same opinion that you have ..
There was nothing fact based about your argument. All emotion.nothing emotional at all in that statement .. the shooter used the same rhetoric in his manifesto that the left uses daily as the reason for his actions ..
I think its the worst since the Civil WarIt appears that there is no middle ground when it comes to the political division in the US .. in my opinion said division is as sharp and contentious as what the country went through in the late 60s and early 70s .. the question I am asking is if the political divide is even more stark than what we saw 60 yrs ago ? is it worse ? if it is worse ,why is it worse ? can the right and left find any middle ground ,or will it get worse ?
AI Overview
Political division in the U.S. is at its highest point in roughly 50 years, defined by deep ideological gaps and intense partisan animosity that began accelerating in the 1970s and 80s. Studies suggest polarization has increased by 64% since 1988, with significant acceleration post-2008, with 80% of adults now seeing the nation as divided.

A freaking CENTURY of Marxist Leninist infiltration into our edu, media, and governance.A better question is: What causes the division?

Both sides are screwing with the election. If the election is screwed with, yes.
This is no different than calling for separating the country. Democrats insisted that blacks living sparsely hundreds miles apart have more in common among themselves than with neighbors living next door as shown in LA. If that’s the argument for redistricting, why not just say the obvious part out loud.Yes. It is getting worse. Watch in the next few years states try to redistrict themselves to lock the opposition party out of house seats.
This is pretty much the path we are on. Both parties have shown they are unwilling to co-operate, so it will only get worse. Very much feels like a "Civil Cold War".This is no different than calling for separating the country.

Unfortunately a lot of people are brainwashed into the "team mentality". I would argue that the differences in the parties aren't all that important, it is an illusion, they are both wings of the same bird. Why such division and unwillingness to co-operate?
May I suggest that it is a fundamental difference in the purpose of the government?
It's a difference between a government that was created to defend individual liberties (pursuit of freedom) and a government that wishes to take over full control for the benefit of ... well, empowering itself?
