Are we in a recession due to the pandemic?

Biden declared that if and when he became president he would handle the pandemic so that it is no longer a national emergency. Has he accomplished that?

Oh, wait a minute, when it comes to cancelling student loan debt, Biden has used a 2003 law, claiming that it gives him the authority to cancel the debt due to a national emergency. What national emergency?

The pandemic? No, he's got that under control.

A recession? No, Biden & Co have said we are not in a recession.

How about high inflation? Nope, Biden said inflation is now at zero.

So, what exactly is the national emergency?

Despite this, many authoritarians including our Commander in Chief refuse to relinquish the extraordinary Emergency Powers they granted themselves, by cancelling the State of Emergency they declared.

Two separate questions, I really don’t see the connection. There may be no pandemic emergency, but the economy still needs a boost. People spending money instead of paying part of their loan could be part of that boost. It seemed important when PPP and affluent investors were involved, including some who are now complaining about the program!
