Is the "free stuff" remark fair to Sanders?

Bernie Sanders gives the deliberate impression he is going to give the masses all kinds of free stuff and the "billionaire class" will pay for every penny of it.

You are a rube of the first order if you believe either part of the former or the latter.

As is typical in partisan politics, there is some truth to it, and the rest is bullshit. If a college student doesn't have to pay for college, then yeah, that's "free". And someone else is paying for it, as you point out. There it is.

Should we charge teenagers to attend High School?...After all, those kids aren't paying for it...We ALL are.
That's correct. A society makes decisions on many things. A person could also argue that many other things "should" be "free" as well, but that's up to the society. Food? Underwear? Clothing? Transportation? Water? I could go on for quite a while.

The primary question to me is the point of equilibrium at which the amount "free" things a government "provides" become a net drag on the efficiency & growth of an economy, a society and a culture.

But I know partisans aren't really into that kind of nuance. Keep it simple, keep it simple.

NK isn't communist, dumbfuck.

Interesting spin.......
The Communist movement in Korea emerged as a political movement in the early 20th century. Although the movement had a minor role in pre-war politics, the division between the communist North Korea and the anti-communistSouth Korea came to dominate Korean political life in the post-World War II era.
They also say the USSR and china were communist... doesn't mean they are right.
The very essence of communism is not have a totalitarian dictator in the driver seat.
There has NEVER been a communist country. EVER
ummmm, yes and no.

Communism is a system based upon communal ownership of all property.

If you have problems with wiki feel free to substitute your own def, but they're all the same basically.

But yes the soviet union used a econ system of communism.

The question might be whether any country with a communist economy can avoid becoming totalitarian.

That's a false and misleading characterization.

Republicans have spending priorities, the American Empire being chief among them. Americans want to spend money on their military, and invade at every opportunity.

Republicans don't want to spend money on infrastructure, education or to provide programs to the poor.

Bernie wants to refocus priorities.

I have no problem with wiki. They change their stuff often. People give them hell, but they try.
USSR was a socialist dictatorship. The economy was completely controlled by the govt. Stalin even controlled what crops were to be planted.

He's a pied piper, if you will. Not unlike the Donald. Even my daughter gives the Bern some love in that as a middle class kid, if you aspire to being an MD or PhD of some kind, you're looking at a lot of debt. We have a system where the gummit makes money available to banks for 1% and less, and they lend it to kids, making them lifetime debtors. The Bern takes what is undeniably an inequitable division of power and money, and proposes an attractive, but unrealistic solution.

The Donald does the same with illegal immigration, for example. I think the Bern is actually serious about his proposals, but I'm not sure of the Donald.

This is precisely why Clinton has been hitting Sanders on his soft underbelly of foreign affairs. You are confirming her claims.

However, I have never heard Sanders associate his spending on "free stuff" with scaling back our defensive posture. He always associates it with the "billionaire class".

And here we have Left Wing Logic:

1. The Government must do something.

2. This is something.

3. The Government must do this.

You bunch of dumb ass libs the Federal government controls neary $4,000 billion dollars a year and you idiots foam at the mouth about grabbing a share of corporations who earn a tiny fraction of that. $4,000 billion go protest the Federal government for your share of that.

ummm..... the "too big to fail" banks are larger now than they were in 2008. You like "HAVING" to rescue those monopolies when they eventually get more greedy than they already are and precipitate another 2008 & fail again sending the econ into another tail spin?

RX & Insurance cartels speak for themselves.
