is the EU a good idea?

is it a good idea?

I'll go out on a limb here, Germany will obviously support the EU idea because they couldn't rule Europe by force, so they're more than happy doing it through the guise of a "Democratic" EU parliament, if they can edge it to more and more member state integration. Do you think that's what drives Germany?

It’s a French-German show, no doubt about it, with client states.

The idea stretches back decades. Even longer

They attract the poor countries to get subsided from the rich ones. As our ex Bank of England governor, Mervyn King, said, "It was not financially beneficial being in the EU".

The United States of Europe. Their idea, we're out of that nonsense.

What I replied to. Germany's culture will change because the immigrants will demand it. And, as they gain in percentages will win the votes to do so, effectively using your own Democracy against you, and you'll because their 151'st state.

Good thing I have pictures because that will be all that's left of their culture.

Weird idea. Panta rei - and so also the German cultures always changed. In case of Andalusia, England, France, the Netherlands and big parts of Switzerland and Italy most people do not even speak about German cultures any longer. But also between Germans and Normans exists not really a difference and the Vikings had also a very interesting wide spread influence in the world.

American.

What kind of American? US-American? When the mayorite of all Germans is changing something (- what not activates the German right of resistance -) what's the problem? Do you really think people who have ancestors from Asia, Africa and Europe should lose the right to vote in the USA because they are no indigenous Americans?

By the way: It had been the "negroes" of the USA who caused with their fight for equal rights that the indigen Americans - I call them in German "Indianer" and Indians I call in German "Inder" - got the first time the right to vote with the „Indian Citizenship Act“ in 1924.

And as an indigenous German, I would like to advise all indigenous Americans not to vote for Donald Trump. I think this man is not only an enemy of Germany - I think this man is also an enemy of all indigenous people in the world.

When Trump was president, people got more bang for their Buck. Nowadays, look at some of your old purchasing receipts from when Trump was president and compare them with recent receipts from the Biden-Harris years: Real disposable income per capita, down 7.7%; Home ownership affordability, down 32.3%; Credit card debt, up 42%; Monthly savings, down 79.9%; Deisel, up 50.53%; Gas, up 40.9%; Electricity, up 29.3%; Natural gas, up 27.15%; plus lots more other costs that have risen, with wages going down (Source: Heritage.org data visualization, updated June 25, 2024. Some of these price hikes have risen further since June).

I'm sure my father had said about Donald Trump "born stupid, learned nothing and forgot about it". Donald Trump was in my eyes the very worst president the USA ever had.

Inflation was by the way worldwide a problem last year as far as I know - what shows on the other side our all economy systems have a very big problem. A problem which no single man nor single nation is able to solve.

Trump tries to make everyone into the mental midget he is - then he lets his aides stand on his big toe and Trumperica appears to be 'great again' to him.

It’s a French-German show ...

The Brits made always a show in the ~50 years they had been members of the EU before they followed Donald Trump into his insignificance. Within this ~50 years always only the EU was responsible within the UK for all mistakes GB made. Now they make their own mistakes and the USA not helps them but thinks the EU is responsible also for the mistakes of the USA.

Always nice if people are responsible for your own stumbling around who live hundreds or thousands of miles far from you.

I do not think "to make sense" someone is able to learn - specially not from you. You should try to find out on your own what makes sense and what makes no sense. That many US-Americans try to destroy Europe makes for example no sense. What had your naive political idiot Donald Trump to do with Great Britain - and why did he and his criminal gang manipulate the Brits and their refendum for the Brexit? Why is the USA doing such weird things?
Never has been

Never has been

What means "never has been"? Makes for me in the moment grammatically no sense.

But sure did the USA (=Donald Trump in this case) manipulate the Brexit decision effectively. I got this information once from trustworthy British sources. The Brits know this themselves. But they do not like to react. And the decision itselve had not only been a 52:48 pro-Brexit decsion, it had indeed been a 50:50 pro-Brexit decision because the Brits who had lived longer than 15 years out of the territory of Great Britain had no right to vote in this referendum - what means in abstract terms: second class citizens have no right to vote. What is a second class citizen in the USA? A woman who not votes for Trump? How is a woman at all able to vote for this absurde man?

Deplorable Yankee

By the way: If I personally had to make such an important decision with 52:48 ~= 50:50 then I could not decide this with a coin toss. I just simple would not know what's the best to do. And in such cases I do normally nothing except to take a look for and on new possible ways.

Ok, just and outsiders point of view.

I'm a German. And I do not speak English in my daily life. Never. Absolutelly no need to do so. And this is so for more than 90% of all people in the world. The contact with the English speaking world leads on the other side to the phenomenon that mass media and news papers downgrade the German language because they seem to think everyone is an idiot with an extremely low limited "keerping in mind"-span who has no idea about different possible verbal position in time and forms of potentiality.

Um, MMORPG, and Armchair General type games. Oh, and One Player Story based games. Like Warhammer online, UO, and The Final Fantasy series.

Do you speak about electronic sandbox games here?

oh I used to play Paranoia, Carwars, AD&D, Mechwarrior, and stuff like that.

No idea what you try to speak about. Do you think it is normal to know the names of video games? The last game I played had been "Simon the sorcerer" - and the first game I played - Âż"pharao"? - was very interesting because I made in this game the first time in my life an experience with an unknown self reflective mathematical structure. If I remember well this was a game for my Schneider CPC - an 8-bit computer with an Z80 processor. Later I got a disk system (180 Kilobyte per disk) but in the beginning I used a tape deck. At this time I was convinced never a program will be [able to be] written which will need more than 64 kilobyte memory if programmed in assembler (machine code). I was very shocked when I bought my first MS-DOS PC. The computer was defect. It showed a dark screen where was written in the left upper corner "c:\ _". The underscore was blinking. ... Hmm ... ÂżWhat to do? ... The keyboard worked - but the PC always only answered "program not found". ... So I had to go to a bookshop to find a book where's written something about what kind of defect this could be. I found out it gave a program language for this monster: Turbo Pascal. I was saved.

Figures. The boring arseholes of Europe with your towels.

The USA would not exist without us "boring assholes with your towels", racist. Do you know who discovered America? Christopher Columbus? Wrong! He rediscovered only India and was wrong to do so. It was Amerigo Vespucchi who found out that a new world had been discovered which had not been a part of Asia. That's why Martin WaldseemĂĽller noticed "America" on a graphic he had painted onto his towel before cutting out this area and sticking it on his football.

How can you racist against a German?? You dull bugger.

These were board games before video games were invented.
I learned how to type on My father's work Mainframe. I played 2-d games before Atari came out.
Furthermore, I got my first 20m HD and I thought I would never fill it up. Took up to 40 floppies to back it up.
I used Basic, GW Basic, before I learned COBOL, FORTRAN, and Pascal.
I loved Ultima, 1-7 The later games had paper maps you could put on the wall.
All the games back then required grid paper to map them yourself so you could figure out where the secret doors were, and later where to teleport to.

A worldwide phenomenon. Example: With the words "Gimme your money, Nazi" tried a weaponed aborigine in Australia to rob a German tourist. I had to laugh a lot when I heard this. And more and more German tourists are dying accidentally in more and more countries around the world. And I have the feeling no one really cares when a German dies. For some people - like you for example - Germans are only rubbish.

"Atari" never was my world although this machine had been really a nice powerful machine.

I was a computer-freak until the first time in my life I met a teenager - not very much younger as I had been from my current point of view - who used his computer for playing while he had not any light idea about the background of this technique. In this moment I knew we all made something wrong.

By the way: Do you know that so called "ego-shooters" are no reason for violent crimes and terrorism - but all terrorists use ego-shooters?
