Is the destruction gonna stop with the east wing?

I don't know how long this temper tantrum has been going on now, but it's too long in my book.

Really? What was his crime?
Destruction of federal property , rdestriction of an historic site { In the case of the White House that includes the West and East Wings. ) All 18 acres of Presidents Park are a National Landmark and the grounds with many ornamental trees are the oldest continuos landscape gardens in the US ,all taken care of by the National Park Service. So even removing a tree could be a crime.

Trump wants to build a 90,000-square-foot ballroom.

Supposedly he needed to remove the East Wing of the White House to do it.

According to Google Maps, it's only 150 feet from where the west wall of the East Wing used to stand to the fence line surrounding the White House greenspace.

They can't go all the way to the fence line for obvious security reasons.

That means the Epstein Ballroom is gonna be 900 feet long and 100 feet wide.

That is both not terribly useable and not what the released designs look like.

Is the rest of the building slated for demolition?

Yes, and I have discovered the renderings of what the new white house will look like.

don't worry crep.

when your party eventually regains the WH, they'll turn it into something else.

a call center, a bordello, a green house, a bar....

something 'special' to the resident of the building at the time.
Dems are already saying they want to tear it down when they get elected..

Democrats are just mad because he didn't build them a BawlRoon...

Agreed. Had a democrat president done this, they'd be saying it was the greatest thing ever and saying "he was so thoughtful and innovative to add something that was desperately needed, and he did it all at no cost to the taxpayer!".

Thats what they would be saying.

I know you think you are joking but I see some form of that as perfectly plausible give tRump's egotism.
Trump's ego distorts everything he touches and not for the better. This new " addition " is his ego trying to put a lasting imprint on the White House. It will need to be torn down when he gets out of office. It's a disgrace.

Agreed , but he's put his distasteful brand on it now.

Yeah, I dont like what he did with the oval office, not my cup of tea.

Regarding the ball room, I guess i dont see the big deal. Sure, he should have gone through the proper channels, but at the end, it will be useful to all presidents to come, that is if democrats dont tear it down.

This new building will be the same : gaudy , pseudo-imperialistic crap everywher. An authoritarian 's dream. The common people's nightmare. By not going through the proper channels he broke the law. It's that simple.

The largest state function hosted by the White House so far had an attendance of 300. That's not likely to change much. Other functions are not allowed on the White House grounds but let's see how quickly trump breaks that law too.

There have been concerts and other performances at the white house. This will allow them more room for that sort of thing.

Concerts are not state functions that is why they aren't allowed in the buildings. Entertainment at a state function would be an exception but these have limited attendance.

Relax, crep. President Trump is an experienced developer who has a lifetime of tremendous accomplishments.

I bet the new ballroom will look fabulous.

BTW, why didn't you complain about the B. Hussein O basketball courts that the libs installed?
How big was that basketball court, and how much of the historically significant White House was destroyed?
