Clue me in here: When did “POST-RACIALISM” start? I missed the memo at the last honkey convention. It’s presuming that (white) people have the capability of manipulating Blacks. Now, if some blacks are paranoid about positive racial relations and it feeds into their anger, well, I guess that IS one way to manipulate, although the result isn’t the one intended. Some people are going to be angry and resentful no matter what. Perhaps more negative racial relations would help assuage all that pent up rage? Kidding!

I just don't understand why WJ is so intent on seperatism of the people who live in this country. We shop with each other, live next door to each other, work with each other, file taxes with each other and vote with each other and yet we should not want to live in this country WITH EACH OTHER!! We should want to live seperately (some should go to the land where their ancestors originated) and conduct our lives as if no other person exists who is not our own color, race, ethnic background, and who does not share our own political and religious beliefs. If that were to come true as WJ wants then why do we have a Constitution of the United States of America and why should we abide by it? I've never heard of post racislism until I came on this site. The ppl I work with everyday are of many races and we do not treat each other as if we are different. Our executive director is Jewish and she comes to our Christmas parties and participates in our 'white elephant' game. She has just as much fun as we do! One year someone brought a fifth of Jack Daniels and believe me it went all around the room and our director was after it as well as the rest of us. We were in a church at the time, and since then we were told not to bring alcoholic beverages anymore. Dang!!

The hypocritical white libearls and their liberal Negro slaves are planting this idea just because there's a black Democratic president, if the president was a black Republican Uncle Tom nobody would be talking about a post-racial America, at least among African Americans.

However, some blacks have not been fooled and lulled to sleep, the Congressional Black Caucus and NAACP are rightfully putting the pressure on Obama to take a more proactive role in addressing the problems affecting the community and as expected, Obama is balking, not because its wrong to fix the problems affecting the black community , but because it would look wrong to Republicans, but hey, Black America shouldn't be shocked at this. Black liberal media and their hypocritical white liberal master is only setting the masses up for a bigger frustration by promoting this post-racial myth, while ignoring that the same problems that existed before Obama became president are still here and even worse in some cases.

Addressing the problems in the black community is not just helping black people, you fail to realize that its the president's responsibility to address problems period. Our black youth (in my community) are killing each other on a daily basis now and it always ends up being b/c of drugs. Also, birth control. Teenage girls (Black & White) are having babies out the wazoo!! I ride the bus to work and when I'm standing on the bus stop I see young girls of both races with skirts that are showing half their asses even when it's 30 degrees outside. You mean to tell me that mothers of these young girls let them go to school dressed that way? One girl even had on houseshoes!! My mother would have never let me step out of the house dressed the way these children do. Do they even go to church? Do they know what Sunday School is about?

I have more questions than answers....and asking my questions will result in me being called racist (just for asking).

But...here goes.

It could just be MY perception, and I could be entirely wrong. I'm willing to admit if I am.

However, it seems to me that while there are more young white teenaged girls than black teenaged girls (ie, blacks are the minority extrapolated out to equal fewer black teen girls than white),

1 Given this, why are black teens more prone to teenaged pregnancy than whites? Is it cultural? Is it because of government assistance (ie, welfare, WIC, foodstamps) that these teens can bring into their household? What is different?

2. Not all white familiies "have money". Nor are all black families on welfare. So welfare isn't necessarily the prime motivator behind teen pregnancy. What other motivators are there?

Why does it seem that black teens have more babies at a younger age than white teens?

I'm just trying to understand *if* there is a difference and what causes this difference? Am I full of shit? Is this difference just my perception? Am I seeing something real or am I totally wrong? (keep in mind I live in a predominantly black area and have for 12 years, but I don't live in these households only mine)

The media loves to focus on Black teenage pregnancy which in turn insinuates that young Black women do nothing but lay up and have babies. That is so untrue. I know plenty of young Black teenage girls who believe in getting an education b/c they want to have a professional career and when the time comes to have children will be able to support them whether or not they have a husband. This generation of young Black women are more advanced and see that they need to take care of themselves instead of living off of food stamps and welfare checks. They want to work and pay taxes. The ones who don't are fools and of course there are going to be those who want the money RIGHT NOW!! In the '70's when I went to school there were Black women who got pregnant b/c they wanted to leave home and have their own place to live. Of course they found out it wasn't that easy: rent, phone, gas, BILLS PERIOD. Most of the children who were born in that era have grown up now and know that is NOT the way to live. So, don't let the media or anyone else tell you that Black teenage girls are shiftless, lazy, good-for-nothing baby-makers b/c they are not. If you want the honest truth, I'll give it you. Full disclosure, I know many Black folks with their shit together and made the right choices. But that being said, the vast majority did all the things I questioned about. Blacks gave themselves their own bad rap, with hate crimes against all races in America, with unbridled ignorance and pride in said ignorance. With a culture that values cancer above the cure, a culture that values ignorance over education. Or being a poison rather than hardwork. Or claiming racism when any little thing doesn't go that individual's way. Shit like that. And its' sad that it mars the reputation of Black folks who're not losers, who work hard, who give back. Why do you think now that the immigrants are gaining in numbers, they're targetting Blacks? Because Blacks subjected them to viscious hate crimes.
