I understand he is about even in all of the others.

Even if he wins the debates - he still needs to win Ohio.
 
North Carolina is the only purple state Romney can win.
 
Rommney needs to focus on the worst recovery ever from a recession in the first debate.

I think it is safe to say they aren't even battleground states at this point. That could change but at this point I'd say that is unlikely.
 
Jack Nicklaus helped pull Ohio out for Bush in 2004.

Maybe he can help out Romney.
