Politicians. judges and unions are passive in their opposition as a few oligarchs use their wealth to support their man. Law breaking is now the law.

Vast swathes of the US are being turned into police states as people are being rounded up and sent to a terror camp without trial. Trans people are being cancelled from public life and the constitution is being assaulted every day by a fraudster who is trying to see how far he can get without pushback.

Thiss is how it started in Nazi Germany. Where are the grown ups fighting for the US ?
He has purged his own party and it now consists of weak sycophants. They will not say a peep. Similarly he owns the corrupt judges who waive thru his edicts.

Trump is rebuilding a pre civil rights society without opposition. So should we cut Germany some slack and accept that they were no worse than anyone else ?

Europeans need to look at themselves and be honest about the ugliness they see, not try and pretend that America is in the same boat as they are as we have no need to look at germans in any other manner other than in a "business as usual" sense...the worst thing Americans see in germans is their euro. Factually the Scholl siblings were rather naive (radical to a certain point) and thus finally overdoing.

An lifelong friend of my aunt went to the same school and class in Ulm with Sophie Scholl and later studied medicine at the same University in Munich. I think this is a worthy topic of discussion Tommy but as soon as I looked at the thread I saw several blatant personal attacks - ad hominem - attacking you and your supposed motives and supposed beliefs rather than the arguments you put forward.

I've raised this with moderators to try to more clearly understand the rules of the clean debate zone, because if the rules are not being enforced then there's no point in attempting to discuss this objectively here, its no different to any other thread here where personal attack is the primary modus operandi of many forum members.
