Is it time to increase the number of members in the US House of representatives?

The U.S. House of Representatives has one voting member for every 747,000 or so Americans in 2023.

The U.S. House of Representatives has one voting member for every 250,000 or so Americans in 1923.

Can a congress member represent 750,000 people effectively?

A Congress member doesn't have time to represent anyone. He's busy making money in order to build his mansion and get a private jet.

We need fewer not more and they need to be part time not every day. Also their pay should be cut.

.... and..
1) Build contacts with people in powerful industry positions in order to capitalize on them now and later
2) Build relations with other house members, especially ones in board seat positions in order to push your own political favors/pay backs for #1.
3) Vote yes on other house member pork to be able to get your own pork passed.

I'll skip the next 22 priorities to get to the last priority:
25) Do honest work for your constituents.

The only reason I see for increasing it is to make the electoral college more representative of what the founding fathers envisioned. But I believe there is a better means to that end by no longer giving each seat in the house an equal weight.

Should have been done years ago. We do not get any kind of representation from Congress. Plus, more representatives make it harder for lobbyists to bribe the body and smaller areas make it harder to gerrymander

There are already too many Republicans and moderate Democrats in the House catering to the whims of the billionaires and Big Business. It's doubtful the American taxpayers can afford any more crooks like these in Congress.

Remember, the people must also deal with too many Republicans and moderate Democrats in fifty state legislatures, because very few voters are willing to vote these bums out. Even when they do they elect more of the same.

Then they can spend twice as much time not getting anything done.

Brilliant.

Before Democrats push ideas like this we need to stop what has become constant election fraud by the Democrat party

Yeah, we need more politicians so they can better represent the population. Yeah. More government, whoop whoop.

Good God, we need to decrease the size of government, not increase it.

What an intellectual response. You sure put a lot of thought into that one.
I can't believe that sailed right over your head. He nailed it, the last thing we need now is more politicians stealing our money. Fix that before pushing more criminals in congress. Joe Biden was the poorest Senator in the 1970s. Fifty years later of selling influence he's a multi-millionaire.

And you didn't get that????? What .... the ... fuck .... How did something that obvious sail right over your head?

That's a violation of the rules your are supposed to be enforcing.

What an embarrassment.
Get back to me when you actually have a cogent argument to make, as opposed to flippant retorts void of any critical thinking.
