I married an Italian woman with a Ph.D. doing cancer research in the US. When we finally had our daughter she couldn't leave her and go back to work. I suggested she stay at home and raise our daughter rather than some daycare. She never went back to work. Now there are so many of her friends that did the whole career thing who continue to tell her she did the best thing, and the most rewarding career, being a mother. There is a lot of regret among women who feel they wasted the best and most rewarding opportunity ever, to raise children. Interestingly, our daughter is not some fucked up leftist who grew up without parents, she is happy and doesn't need 10 anti-psychotics to get her through the day.

Agreed. Just let them choose their own paths and accept whatever it is they choose. Its called freedom. Want kids and family go do that. Dont want that then that's great as well. Both avenues are very acceptable.

We didn't raise any sissies; my wife could ride and shoot, and is actually the better shot between the two of us. She taught the kids about firearms, and looked out for their educations. There is not a single female in our family that voted for a Democrat after they ran Ann Richards for Governor here in Texas.

I was confirmed Catholic two years ago and I see an incredible number of families with three or four generations coming to church together, and the teenage girls are mostly very happy looking, wearing clothing that is modest and not slutty, and their relationships with their dads look very happy and loving.

My father died when I was very young and I have always felt that absence, whenever I see dads and girls with great relationships.
