Which is better? It's hard to say.

I believe that the more people get involved in things, the better decisions you will have.

In China one person making decisions is going to lead to problems, and the evidence for that is pretty obvious. The one child policy is absolutely screwing China over right now. Had they reversed the one child policy twenty years ago, they'd still be in the shit right now. But maybe they wouldn't be in the shit in 20 years time. As it is, they're screwed for decades.

In the US, there are more people in the decision making apparatus, but it's so messed up right now, the Koch brothers have a lot to answer for, but they're not the only ones, and the politicians aren't doing what they should be doing, they're taking the money from the rich.

The German federal election cost LESS than one US senate race. That's how bad it is in the US. In Germany they're much more likely to deal with real issues and with people than in the US with an electoral system that so easy to manipulate with money.

Time the US learned. The problem is the politicians don't want to learn, they want to get rich.
