They also fired a lot of the people involved in atmospheric modeling (long term prediction)
that gave estimations of storm tracks, severity and longevity days or more in advance.

So the forecasters in Texas only had current weather data to go by.

Kerr is known for it's poor hydraulic capacity. So if they know the storm will be dropping inches of rain per hour, and will stay over the area for hours, they know the drainage characteristics make the area prone to flash floods.

What the weather forecasters didn't have was the data to predict how long the storm would stay over the area for.

It's no different than tracking a hurricane, and depending on the speed, that will determine the damage caused by it.

The county had two warnings one 12 hours in advance and one 3 hours in advance.
That means the camp managers got the warnings.

The DoJ might not have strong cases because these people would be rich/powerful with good lawyers to fight the cases, and the evidence is not that strong (you might not be able to tell who is in the videos and the girls in the videos might not be willing to testify or might have been of age).

I think it’s entirely possible Trump knows and likes some people that might get caught up in it and I think it’s entirely possible Trump shut it down. But I don’t know anything for sure.

If that’s truly the case, and the relatively new field of the hydraulics studies are totally solid, then why aren’t 7 day forecasts more precise?

The facts are as follows:

A watch was issued 12 hours before.
The warnings were issued 3 hours before hand.

Seems pretty normal to me, and that’s why there weren’t more deaths.
