Deep thoughts of an Arab terrorist

When Yasser Arafat died, I reported here based on information I trusted that he had died of AIDS. Arafat's homosexuality was an open secret during his life. In connection with her 1981 interview with Arafat, for example, Oriana Fallaci had observed Arafat's preference for young boys. Ion Pacepa subsequently disclosed in Red Horizons that Rumanian intelligence had surveillance videos of Arafat engaging in orgies with his male bodyguards.

Yesterday I noted the interview excerpt in which Ahmed Jibril states that he was told of the AIDS-related cause of Arafat's death by Mahmoud Abbas. Jibril is the founder and leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command. He is a terrorist thug who operates out of Damascus in the sheltering arms of Bashar al-Assad. There is no reason to credit anything Jibril says for public consumption.

Arafat dedicated his life to murder and mayhem on a large scale. He was a vile human being. Jibril of course finds no reason to object to Arafat's murderous predilections, his massive corruption, or his thoroughgoing duplicity. When Jibril announces that "the Fatah movement now has an opportunity to renew itself," it is a bit hard to fathom. His comments appear to support Hamas in its struggle with Fatah and to advise members of Fatah that they can rid themselves of the taint of Arafat's true shame, i.e., Arafat's homosexuality.

UPDATE: Along the same lines, Mark Steyn adds construes Jibril's statement as no Fatah, no fems.

I’d rather rely on Wikipedia.com

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasser_Arafat#Illness_and_death

After reading this article, as far as I can tell, there has been no conclusion about the cause of death. Even the conservative encyclopedia Conservapedia.com says that the cause of death is unknown.

In 2004, Arafat died at the Frech Percy Military Hospital in Clamart, near Paris. The cause of his illness is still unknown.

Can you provide me with a critical, somewhat unbiased source, that says otherwise.

No, but will note dates, dear.

Actually, the blogger you're relying on specifically states:

So, while it may be true...may not. And I'd put it in the same catagory as any other salacious rumor.

Yah.

He came to my office in Beirut often in the last part of '81 into '82. He always seemed very masculine and never had any pretty boys around him. I certainly never heard any talk about his homosexuality at that time.

um, but rock hudson was gay, and he was very masculine.

um...but Rock Hudson was usually surrounded by good looking men. One would think that Arafat could have had is pick of gay palestinian young men... all I am saying is that in the year that I lived in Beirut and saw him frequently...I never saw him with any such men, and I often saw him with his wife.

I'm more wondering, notwithstanding the question mark in the header, why the implication is that Arafat actually died of AIDS? I mean, he may have... but given the unreliability of the info, seems like rumor-mongering.

Hung out in your office, huh? Not looking good for the Cmdr at the moment, sir.

I always had to leave the room whenever he came to visit, because Americans were not allowed to be photographed with him (as per decree from washington)...but I often had to rewrite his dispatches to Kurt Waldheim..... it was a really silly situation where an arab palestinian who spoke english as a second language would talk to a french colonel who spoke english as a second language and try to come up with a dispatch in english that would go to an austrian who spoke english as a second langauge.

It just blows my mind that the Grandaddy of Modern Terrorism just came and went freely. I was just poking fun at you ... I could care less if he was gay. He was murdering scumbag, IMO.

Wiki? Unbiased? Please.....

The AIDS rumors started circulating right after he died. Didn't surprise me at all, and Mr. Jibril's comments don't suprise me either.

His Keffiyeh was so gay that Urban Outfitters started selling them after his death. 'Nuff said.

there were many more prolific murdering scumbags walking around that town.... Arafat was the king of the sabra and chatilla camps and was beloved by all those refugees. He strutted into the UN Liaison office about every week or so with some demand for the secretary general... we would diplomatically send the message off to NY where it would be ignored, like all the rest of them.

I already explained that, due to its open format, Wikipedia is less biased than is Conservapedia. It more readily allows people to add comments and discuss the topics. Conservapedia is just a reactionary web site created by conservatives who found Wikipedia to be too liberal for their liking. If you do not like how Wikipedia presents a term, sign up and write comment or request correction or present additional specific and supported information.
