I've noted for years and years that despite the rhetoric, no one was going to stop Iran from nuclear capabilities. People often want to use this as a political talking point but the fact is, Iran will be nuclear (even if they are not now) and no one is going to stop them. No amount of threats or treaties will stop them.

The West has done such a good job of transferring intellectual property, industries and their Middle Class that other nations became very powerful and influential.

It was inevitable that middle power nations such as Iran would exploit this shift in power.

If USA has stuck to its guns of demanding nations support civil liberties and human rights or not be given access to U.S Markets and wealth in particular, you would see far different circumstances in other nations, ally or enemy.

Perhaps but greed took over.

Iran wanted nuclear power plants as far back as Eisenhower. Remember Atoms for Peace? They needed to expand their electrical grid to become a modern industrialized country. The Germans were building their power plants, the US was training their nuclear techs and Israel was buying all their oil from Iran.

How can it not be political? A vibrant and nuclear enabled Iran was one of Obama's top priorities. He and John Kerry worked tirelessly for years to achieve that. The nuclear treaty was a total joke that gave Obama the justification to release Iran's frozen assets and make them the world number one terrorist threat.

Nope. That's one more lie. The nuclear agreement with Iran was to delay nuclear weapons as long as possible. So Trump killed that and Israel continues their threats so getting a nuke is back on the table.

Remember Atoms for Peace?

Do you know anything about Iran or how we created this mess?

In 2018, former US President Donald Trump ditched Tehran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, under which Iran curbed its uranium enrichment work, a potential pathway to nuclear weapons, in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.

About a year into Trump's "maximum pressure" policy on Iran, Tehran started violating the pact's nuclear restrictions.

The agreement was all a farce (I've said that all along) but it was their money. We had no right to it.

83% of Iranians don't bother to vote.

The irony of the only country to ever actually use nuclear weapons telling other countries they cannot have them is just too much to ignore.
Check out Reuters and AP News once in a while; no nation wants Iran to have nuclear weapons.
