Warfare has changed significantly with the use of EW and Drones. No one is really ready for how the new wars will look.

High altitude bombing isn't what it used to be.
Cruise missiles need stealth technology and or defenses or they get shot out of the sky by air defense systems.

Diego Garcia has seen an unprecedented number of Stealth Bombers lately. 6 to be exact.

Other military bases in the ME theater and in the Asian Pacific theater also have seen SIGNIFICANT increases in military personnel and equipment.....even reviving old WW2 airbases that haven't seen use in 70 years or more.

My oldest son was an infantryman with the 1st Cav in Sadr City in Baghdad, Iraq from April 2004 to April 2005. He told me that about half the "insurgents" they killed or captured carried grave markers in Farsi language. The language of Iran.

We were in an unofficial, "proxy" war with Iran than, being fought in Iraq.
Last I knew, there has been no "peace treaty" signed by Iraq.
Therefore would seem we are still at war with Iraq.

Still a LOT of jets stationed in the area with bases in Syria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq and etc.

Unsure if Israel is going to hit their nuke plants or not. (How they can quickly enrich uranium for weapons, enriching for reactor use is different.)

And we (civillians) are unsure if they have any deuterium and tritium or ways to make more. So any nuke they have might be very very dirty.

You need all three elements to make big big bombs and lightweight enough to fit in a missile. (Something we do not want them to do) because just one nuke tipped missile is not going to create enough damage to wipe out everyone....and when dealing with Israel or US the payback is going to be of biblical proportion.

At that size they need to stay with conventional warheads. They won't survive any nuke attack.
