when trump declares jan 6 as a national holiday that spear becomes a national treasure, symbolizing the backward direction of the movement.Huh, did the shaman guy kill someone with his spear?
why yes. does a responsible gun owner ever allow his precious weapon to be stolen or lost? since the answer is a resounding NO. why give a gun , even his own, to a person proven not capable of that responsibility?Remember the firearm buyouts where a person could turn in any firearm for a specified amount of money and no questions asked? It seems that the government destroyed all the weapons without checking if they were stolen or trying to return them to the rightful owners. Is that logical?
Would you hold the owner of a stolen car responsible if it's used in a crime?why yes. does a responsible gun owner ever allow his precious weapon to be stolen or lost? since the answer is a resounding NO. why give a gun , even his own, to a person proven not capable of that responsibility?
driving, and car ownership, appear to be "privileges" rather than rights.Would you hold the owner of a stolen car responsible if it's used in a crime?
Granted Americans have a 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms but how does that put them in a special category of protecting their homes from invasion and burglary that ordinary citizens don't have to comply with? It's an interesting point but do they forfeit their recovered property if it is taken by gunpoint or robbery or burglary as punishment for a perceived "sacred right" that they failed to give up their lives to protect?driving, and car ownership, appear to be "privileges" rather than rights.
perhaps a car is not a sacred right with commensurate responsibility.
are you sure they don';t run the guns thriugh a serial number check? it seems they would, but who knows?Granted Americans have a 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms but how does that put them in a special category of protecting their homes from invasion and burglary that ordinary citizens don't have to comply with? To tell the truth I'm not sure if they make an attempt as checking serial numbers and returning the firearms to rightful owners but indications are that they don't. Does it make sense to dump confiscated firearms in a freaking lake? What are they thinking?are you sure they don';t run the guns thriugh a serial number check? it seems they would, but who knows?
i have a few criticisms of the program. some cities sell the guns. that seems counter productive.
orleans parish was dumping guns into lake pontchartrain. i've seen two that were recovered by divers.
but, in many cases, we have wives and mothers who do not want their boys playing gaqngsta.
