NEW YORK (Reuters) - The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell sharply last week to the lowest level in more than four and a half years, according government data on Thursday that suggested improvement in the labor market.

You said "less people," not "lower percentage of people."

First link is men only...you didn't specify men.

The others don't say "ever." The Labor Force Participation Rate WAS the lowest since 1978. That's not "ever" and it's not fewer people, but lower percentage. It went UP in September, so is obviously not the lowest anymore August was. But note that the current 63.6% is Higher than anytime before Dec 1978.

It is amazing how much better the jobless rate looks when millions just give up looking and drop out of the work force.

Of course actually creating new jobs is a much better way to reduce the jobless rate.
We'll see how that works after Obama is defeated next month.
