If the government would get out of our way, we as individual's could have raced towards energy independence on a personal level throughout this nation over time, but government loves to control things in order to protect it's power of influence and wealth over us through making us stay highly dependent on it as a source of our needs to a certain degree. In a time of crisis you would think that our oil wouldn't be allowed to be sold across the pond regardless of who got it up out of the ground, otherwise until our security needs are met.....During the time of the crisis, our government could have purchased that oil in order to make sure our economy keeps in balance for national security purposes. Allowing our nation to falter in a time of national crisis, is a government that is derelict of it's duties... It has been found to be derelict in concerns of the welfare of the citizen's, and towards the country in which it's supposed to provide for in a crisis.
