INCREDIBLE - Walmart Great Value large eggs now $7.42 cents a dozen!!!!!!!!!

You don't have chickens?

Heck no. I fiddled and farted around and thought about it for a couple years. James went and built a henhouse for them- but I chickened out. (you see what I did there?) So many chicken munching critters around here. I'd cry all day if I went out to feed them and found nuttin but heads and feathers.

When were eggs 99 cents a dozen?

A dozen eggs were about 99 cents in 2000. The average cost of eggs is now $2.99.

Here are some other historical egg prices:

  • 1980: $0.88 per dozen large Grade A eggs
  • 1961: $0.366 per dozen
  • 1957: $0.55 per dozen
  • 1948: $0.845 per dozen in large cities
  • 1974: $0.73 per dozen large eggs, $0.68 per dozen medium eggs, and $0.55 per dozen small eggs
67 cents in 2018. :rolleyes-41:
You don't buy groceries, STFU.

I looked into it and talked to people who do it.
It's a good bit of work.......

Somebody gave me 6 fancy schmancy chickens when we were in cali. I waited for a looong time for them to give me some eggs. I finally gave up when someone told me they were boy chickens.

We don't have a Kroger.
About the largest pure grocery industry store in the nation or one of them. With the fuel points we get for shopping there, I paid $2.29/gallon on a complete fill up yesterday. I like saving 40cents/gallon on a fill up, not to forget the eggs.

Fuck the egg corporations, everybody should get chickens. Fuck that. Do a little choring and have fresh eggs for free.
I got some leftovers that it would be good to mix eggs with, but I'm not paying that.
I'll buy sausage and milk and make gravy before I pay that much for eggs.
No. :nono:
It's the bird flu and Trumpy better get off his ass and do something about it.

I wish. I haven't seen a Krogers in ages.

Course, I ain't been lookin either.

You are lucky OP!

I couldn't find any eggs in my local supermarket....grrrrr....I will have to go to another one!

Find a farm with chickens and buy your eggs there... go to a small bakery for bread and the farmers market for produce... if you eat meat find a local butcher shop (harder to find these days) and go to a fish market for seafood...
Big grocery has gotten out of control and its only going to get worse before it gets better...
I do this... it takes me all day Saturday and with gas I'm not saving a lot but I'm saving a little...
I found our closest college has a huge agriculture program and they sell produce and beef and pork and eggs it's cheaper than the grocery store and its a joy to visit the school and pick your own oranges and apples and talk with the students...
So think outside the box for groceries...

Mashed bananas and mashed beans are good egg substitutes. That's my answer.
