That's the price at the wally i was at just a few hours ago. This is getting to be mind-bogulating. I started a thread about egg prices two weeks ago when they hit $6.42. A month before that they hit $5.42. Under trump these eggs were 98 cents.

And still the press and democrats say there is just slight inflation!!

Fuck the egg corporations, everybody should get chickens. Fuck that. Do a little choring and have fresh eggs for free.
I got some leftovers that it would be good to mix eggs with, but I'm not paying that.
I'll buy sausage and milk and make gravy before I pay that much for eggs.
No. :nono:

Massive recall of eggs for salmonella and its the winter when eggs are laid less due to a shortage of sunlight.

When were eggs 99 cents a dozen?

A dozen eggs were about 99 cents in 2000. The average cost of eggs is now $2.99.

Here are some other historical egg prices:

  • 1980: $0.88 per dozen large Grade A eggs
  • 1961: $0.366 per dozen
  • 1957: $0.55 per dozen
  • 1948: $0.845 per dozen in large cities
  • 1974: $0.73 per dozen large eggs, $0.68 per dozen medium eggs, and $0.55 per dozen small eggs

Find a farm with chickens and buy your eggs there... go to a small bakery for bread and the farmers market for produce... if you eat meat find a local butcher shop (harder to find these days) and go to a fish market for seafood...
Big grocery has gotten out of control and its only going to get worse before it gets better...
I do this... it takes me all day Saturday and with gas I'm not saving a lot but I'm saving a little...
I found our closest college has a huge agriculture program and they sell produce and beef and pork and eggs it's cheaper than the grocery store and its a joy to visit the school and pick your own oranges and apples and talk with the students...
So think outside the box for groceries...

Eggs are the debbil anyway.
