The point here is that Trump can put tariffs on countries for any reason he wants. In so far as the law applies conditions upon his ability to place tariffs, those conditions are meaningless so long as they're left to the interpretation of an authoritarian.

Scandinavian countries have mixed economies with well financed public sectors of the economy paid for by steeply progressive taxation. That is what I mean by democratic socialism, and why I like it.

Bernie Sanders uses that term too. Unfortunately, it's the word "socialism" that just doesn't work with what is going on in Scandinavian countries. Taxation does not equal socialism. In fact, private property rights and private business regulations are far more capitalistic than what we have in America. The Federal Government in America took away much control from the States when they Federalized the Real Estate and Mortgage business making brokers and agents under their control for regulation and licensing. The Insurance industry has so far been able to stop the Feds from taking over as well. But, that may be coming to an end as well. Scandinavians also fully own their property as well. That's the opposite of socialism.

Democrats are against Capitalism and for Communism. Heck, they are backing that stated Communist in New York City!
