In a 6-3 ruling, the SCOTUS has granted a partial stay against lower courts that issue nationwide injunctions. Amy Coney Barrett wrote for the Majority. This is a huge victory for the Trump administration, freeing it to essentially enact its agenda as it sees fit within the bounds of constitutional law. It mostly stops lower courts from issuing blanket injunctions.

The fact they ruled district judges can’t invoke nationwide injunctions is bigger than this one issue.

The SC just destroyed the only way Dimwingers have to oppose the agenda Americans voted for in a landslide.

They would have to now rule against Trump’s EO, and as far as I know there is no pending case at the SC right now. So there is nothing stopping his ban.

If I understand what Barrett is saying, the lower courts can say that this or that action by the executive is unconstitutional, but cannot order him to stop, or order him to take some corrective action dreamt up by that lower court judge.

But the USSC still has that power.

I agree with this ruling, but I also will say that it is exactly the ruling the USSC should make if its goal is to maintain its perceived power over the executive.

That's precisely what it should have said. Good delineation. The lower courts can say all they want, but they can't stop the Executive from acting until the suit reaches the Supreme Court.

Long story short, they call it a "Supreme" Court and a "lower" court for a reason. Supreme is supreme, and lower is lower. One has more power over the other. Simple.
