Except for the fact that Norway, Germany., France all have different cultures, traditions, institutions and forms of government than the U.S. (so it's not a "what's good for the goose is good for the gander question") and that the Scandinavian countries have been tactically retreating from "democratic socialism" for the last decade primarily because it hasn't proven to be sustainable in a globally competitive environment.

And of course, there are already elements of socialism in America.
