"I hear the "it's all an anti-Semitic plot" chorus warming up in the wings."

NEW YORK (AP) - The leader of the International Monetary Fund and a possible candidate for president of France was arrested Sunday in the violent sexual assault of a hotel maid after being yanked from an airplane moments before it was to depart for Paris, police said.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, 62, was arrested on charges of a criminal sex act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment and was awaiting arraignment. He had been taken off the Air France flight at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Saturday afternoon by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and was turned over to New York police, said Paul J. Browne, New York Police Department spokesman.

His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, did not immediately respond to phone or email messages left by The Associated Press. "We have not yet been able to meet with our client and we may have more to say tomorrow," Brafman told The New York Times late Saturday.

Gee, why would you hear that?
In this country someone is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Does Strauss-kahn have a history of molesting women? He isn't Silvio Berlusconi ya know.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been living like a king. He is a French economist, lawyer, and politician, and a member of the Socialist Party of France. He claims he is a former Communist. He is the International Monetary Fund Chief and has been spending $3,000 a night for a Midtown Manhattan hotel suite and flying 1st class back around the world. How can a socialist public servant afford such a lavish life? Strauss-Kahn earns about $420,000 a year in salary, plus pension contributions and generous benefits. He receives an additional $75,000 in living expenses. Per his contract Strauss-Kahn charges all "reasonable expenses" incurred including entertaining and meeting with politicians. Struass is reimbursed for all travel expenses and per his contract must always fly first class.

Is he a Capitalist CEO or a Socialist? Not sure which lives better?

Strauss-Kahn was yanked out of his 1st class seat while waiting to fly out of a New York City airport back to Paris. He is being charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, and attempted rape of a maid who was cleaning his hotel room. He was refused bail and is awaiting his next court appearance.

Strauss-Kahn has been lobbying the US for cash to bail out all the European Socialist countries who are failing do to Socialism. The USA has given billions of dollars in US aid to help bailing out this European Socialist countries

You Democrats aka Socialist have a lot of explaining to do?

What exactly are US Democrats supposed to be explaining here?

For starters, why are we having to bail out European Socialist countries for the same policies Democrats are trying to implement in America? Is this our future. Is this the future you want?

Margaret Thatcher was right 'The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money'?

Yeah because you know how socialism encourages masters of the universe to molest chambermaids, right?

Mon Dieu, ami, obtiennent un indice!

Soon he will get to learn about rape from the receiving end.

Karma is a bitch.

As to the guy's politics... Well I am glad he is not a republican. Politics really don't matter much here.

Well since you are slow, there are three issues here:

1. Socialism bankrupts countries

2. Socialist leaders live as high on the hog as CEOs

3. Rape

Once again a leftwinger has chosen to ignore #1 and #2. and continues to talk about how everyone is getting fvcked. How typical

Some people may feel sorry for him, as at birth the most sensitive part of his penis (the foreskin) was removed by genital cutting, how would he ever enjoy "normal sex" :eusa_whistle:

Guy don't sound to smart to me.

Did he really think the maid wasn't gonna say anything about being raped?

Hope he lands in one of our great jails with a big guy for a room mate.

Your right Baruch. Karma is a bitch.

When did we move from 'innocent until proven guilty' to 'who gives a shit, let's hang 'em anyway'? Damn, I need to keep up with progress in our justice system.

He has a history of sexual misconduct and the maid had no idea who he was before all this started. The evidence doesn't look too good. And since this is a message board and not a court room we can all draw the conclusions we want.
My conclusions:

1) Socialists encourage a "some pigs are more equal than other pigs" mentality.
2) The French don't give a shit about the sexual lives of their politicians
3) Dont ask dont tell doesn't work outside of the U.S. Army. Actually it doesnt work there anymore either.
4) All the intellectual attainment in the world won't save you from doing something stupid.
5) Thinking with the wrong head can be a career-ending move.
6) [insert anti-semitic comment here]

Until I hear the woman describing exactly what this man did, and the NYPD-SVU detectives make a definitive statement, I have no opinions on this issue. I'm recalling the Koby Bryant rape accusation, also alleged to have happened in a hotel room to a hotel employee.

Also, my older brother, who in his younger years looked exactly like Don Johnson, was taken from our home by police in 1952 when he was accused of rape by some neurotic woman who later told the truth when it was learned she had a history of mental problems and had accused others of raping her in the past, all proven to be false charges. That was a harrowing two days that we'll never forget.

Rape is the most frequently mistaken, exaggerated and/or falsely lodged accusation. But if it turns out to be true in this example then this man is one outrageously arrogant or extremely pathological individual, or both. But it must be kept in mind that the accuser in this case is now in a position to receive a lot of money to alter her testimony.

The fact that the maid reported the attack right away and received a medical exam provides some very compelling evidence.

I would have loved to have seen his face when the police hauled him off of the Air France Jet a few minutes before take-off. He fled the hotel, leaving his belongings and ID behind him. Not exactly the act of a guilt free man.
