Does the tenor of the discussion create an atmosphere for respectful disagreement?
I hope so, that's certainly what I am going for ITT
When you start with the word “bitch”, do you think anyone on the left is going to hear the rest of what is said?
No, but I never went down that road ITT, I saw it done, but did not participate in hateful rhetoric in this discussion...
I’m sorry if it doesn’t further our thread here but it is the Right Wing almost to a poster that engages in this sort of rough language.
Yeah, I disagree vehemently on this
I rarely engage in nasty personal comments & I see a lot of it from both sides, I see more from the left on this forum - TBH it's probably a function of our own biases that we each notice offenses from "the other side" more frequently...
Not sure if you know how to do it but call up google in your browser. On the Search Bar; type in the following “site:usmessageboard.com” now to the LEFT of the word “site” type in whatever you want to search for and your search will be limited to this site on the internet.
Now look up derogatory terms associated with Clinton and Trump. I used “bitch” the other day and had over 8300 hits. Now, were all of them about Clinton? No. But it does lend itself to the tenor needing to be changed before the listening and understanding will take place.
As for the video, I hope it shows you the truth….that we all have a great amount of commonality. We’re fathers, mothers…like Chess or checkers…like musicals or plays….have the paper come off the roll counter-clockwise or incorrectly. A very small part of our lives—and one that isn’t even important 90% of the time—national politics divides us. If that is what your entire life is about; I think you’re a good candidate for pity.
