I Seriously Don't Know What to Do Anymore In Regards to Politics

I'm just going to try it out as trying never hurts.

I don't want to take her thread in a different direction, but I think you and I have a very different view in regard to what's going on in our country overall. I don't think RoadRunner agrees with me on this either, but as I've mentioned many times before, what I'm saying is a "sham" is the 2-party system and the entire left/right paradigm. The people behind the scenes with the real power (you can call it "deep state", I prefer the phrase "powers-that-shouldn't-be") control both sides. They WANT division. They WANT us focusing only on the other side, and continually fighting the other side, because it keeps the attention off of them, the ones pulling the strings on both sides. And again, because ultimately it's about Divide and Conquer.

I agree with you that we should be angry at evil. But the true evil, the bigger evil...the ones who don't care about either side and are working to destroy this country, using both wings of the same bird to do just that. I don't want to hate some misguided lefty who I believe is just brainwashed. From a Christian perspective, we are supposed to pray for our enemies and be a light (lead by example) not be hateful and angry. As the bible says, "for we wrestle not against flesh and blood..."
It is not about hating Leftists, it is more about understanding where the division is coming from which is the Marxist Left and what to do about it.

Yeah, but for me it's also about not being part of the problem. Charlie Kirk didn't want us hating each other for simply just disagreeing with one another. Neither does Jesus Christ.

Charley showed us the way, and that is, calm debate to understand differences.

As long as we push this instead of allowing the Left to derail such conversations as they spew defamation like and exorcism on acid, they eventually lose.

See? America can be united again. If Stephen A. Smith says that it can then it can.

Here's an example of how Charlie Kirk was able to speak to people with very different views, in a kind, respectful way. I wasn't that familiar with his work, but based on what I've seen, it was his faith (and the Spirit) that enabled him to do this. I don't want to get all religious-y here, but imo this is yet another reason why everyone needs Jesus. Apart from God, there is never true peace, understanding or reconciliation.

Wow, I just long to be like Charlie Kirk but feeling the pressure to be just like him and leading people to Christ like he did has been great on me right now as I'm afraid that I'll never get there.

You shouldn't feel pressured to be just like him. :dunno: I mean, everyone has different strengths and gifts. But I do believe that where someone is at spiritually has an effect on how they think about and interact with people with opposing views. As I think you said on this thread already, hating and returning bad with more bad doesn't do any good and only makes things worse.

Well I'm trying my best to live my life the way God wants me to so I guess that's all that He asks of me. 😊

Yes I know I took another long hiatus and until Wednesday and I was thinking of resuming my time on this message board completely destroying the left but now since the assassination of Charlie Kirk I'm currently having second thoughts as left versus right is exactly what brought us into this mess in the first place. Along with the fact that I've noticed that I've become more Christlike since my time away from here as no fiery heated arguments to have to worry about. I seriously don't know what The United States of America has become where we can't just simply agree to disagree without tearing each other apart and especially not ending a person's life simply just because they don't agree with you.

Why can't we all just be like Charlie Kirk on here and actually have discussions/debates while at the same time act civilly towards one another? I'm still thinking of coming back as I'm just on the fence right now. As I obviously still am a MAJOR Trump supporter but politics has become WAY too much of a heated war even if it's an online one and I was just starting to get sick and tired of it all.
Discussion forums have mostly degenerated into cathartic nonsense.

edit: Hey, I just noticed my profile, and see that you posted on there. Seems a coincidence.

I didn't used to do it much for the first couple of years, but lately I've become much more likely to put certain people on "ignore". It's mostly the rabid, insulting leftists but there have been a few arrogant righties who are also ignorant beyond rational discussion as well, and a few of them are on my list as well.

I used to refrain from putting people on ignore because it seemed like it was voluntary deafness and blindness. But some of these people obviously just live to be obnoxious and think they can insult you into agreeing with them. Occasionally I have given it back twofold, but it's just getting ridiculous as the OP pointed out. Obviously these people just exist here to troll, gaslight, subvert and project ... and now I feel putting many of them on "ignore" is both justifiable and necessary. Their demeanors are just plain toxic and listening to them just fuels contempt and disgust and solves nothing..they obviously don't really want to resolve anything with you, they want to destroy you....often when they don't even really know what you stand for. I had some nutjob angrily accuse me of being "Bush Republican". This was so laughable, since just days before I had written some stuff on here tearing both Bushs to pieces. Clueless or aggressively obnoxious people are better off on your ignore list. I think that would several disempower them greatly and probably be the last thing they want. I have always told them that they are more worried about what I think that I am worried about what they think. That much is obvious. And that's why I think "ignore" is the best option for many of these cases.
