Not anymore. That is part of the change in policy, plus Mexico doesn't want them and there is no longer an agreement that people coming in over that border can just be sent back for Mexico to deal with on their dime. We got the influx, because, not only was the policy changed, he announced it to the world. Mexico had been hold many back at border towns on the southern border as they came up from Central America, on their way to the US. With Biden's change, Mexico had no reason to hold those people and here they came and are still coming.
Joe screwed up, knows it, and has tried to get the policy renegotiated with Mexico, but I figure Mexico wants some kind of pot sweetener, Joe cannot or is unwilling to give. It is easier to keep a poor temporary solution by somebody you don't like, negotiated, than to start over with nothing, only to wish like hell you could go back to what was there before. Sometimes there is no going home. Knowing that before you make and announce radical changes is wisdom. I haven't seen a wise president in many, many years.
