These "bed wetters" can't be like me, as I have been here close to 4 years and you have never heard me "piss and moan" about the 2000 election. I live in Tennessee. He didn't even carry his home state and like I said, this was so far back, undergraduates in college weren't even born yet. Not sure where you are finding these "pissers and moaners". I don't remember seeing somebody start a thread on it, but was obviously long before my time here. Still sensitive about it, eh. I don't see why. Afterall, we did get rid of that balanced budget thing. There were almost immediate tax breaks for the rich. You got 3 wars out of the deal, some still going. So, the economy crashed after almost 8 years of Republican control of the economy. Doesn't matter. Big Bank and big money got protected and mostly made whole, right?

I wouldn't change a thing at this point. Here's why. The only real way society will ever change for the better is if they're left to suffer the consequences of participating in coercion. So let them. You almost have to.
People have to experience the hardcore consequences of their choices before they'll ever think outside of the little box they've been trained to think and speak from within.
It's just a fact of life.
Government can't make laws and think that's going to change the virtue of the people. The people first have to deal with the moral decay themselves and then that will in turn affect the laws.
But...government, particularly over the last couple of decades, has been in the business of implementing societal decay by way of the laws. And there's a reason for that. The gradual erosion of virtue in society, which they desperately need, want and influence, is the most gradual, consistent and unrecognized, threat to the fabric of our once great Republic.
