Israel is rooting out Hamas, and may take over Gaza City for awhile after all of Hamas system is destroyed.
There is no interest of "taking over" Gaza.
But Israel should consider taking back the area it gave to Palestinians in 2005 in order to keep a larger area to protect Israel from any further attacks from any other terror groups, like Islamic Jihad.
Gaza governments did not want peace with Israel, only to be closer to attack cities in Israel.

Most of the Jew's expansion was the result of winning defensive wars in the region, not urban planning.
Israel returned the Sinai to Egypt in 1979.1967 was not a defensive war. Egyptian troops were all deployed to Yemen and Nasser had called for a summit.
