But not all. IM2 acts as though all blacks were denied the help that was given to whites. As I stated above, poor black kids in NYC in the 1940s has the same opportunity to go to the public colleges (CCNY was called “the poor man’s Harvard due to how excellent its programs were and how competitive it was) as the poor white kids.

And in my family’s case, Jewish college grads had trouble getting hired in NY due to post-war antisemitism (which was rampant). IM2 acts like only blacks faced obstacles and white people got everything handed to them on a silver platter.

He’s resentful that the children of poor immigrant Jews, while suffering the murders of their immediate families in Europe due to Hitler, were able to STILL have the traits and attributes that allowed them to succeed.

It goes back to our national leadership dividing Americans against themselves. Fearmongering is used because it works...at least for the lesser educated, less intelligent and less rational side of the voter bell curve.

While Trump is clearly the current leader in this tactic, it dates back to the end of the Cold War when, after losing a common enemy, the two major political parties sought to reinvent themselves. Both parties ended up moving to extremes by only listening to the loudest, albeit minority, voices within their own parties.

A big part of this is voter apathy which aloud these loudmouthed minorities to steer their respective parties. Republicans shifted toward anti-abortion, anti-gay, quasi-theocracy with a huuuuge streak of white nationalism which flourished under Trump. The Democrats went off the deep end into not only supporting a draft-dodging serial adulterer and rapist for President and supporting agendas that only helped 10% of their constituents leaving the other 90% on the roadside. Hillary found this out the hard way in 2016. When she was finally gone, most Democratic leaders breathed a sigh of relief.

Now, it appears that the Democrats are trying to right their ship by moving back to center. Like a large ship such as an oil tanker, it takes a lot of time and space to make such corrections. After the Slush Fund fiasco, even the Republicans are starting to see the need to right their own ship from going over the edge of sanity.

The good news is that our nation has survived worse. The bad news is that it's going to be painful.

Okay, if the standard is that you are a racist if you don't call out racism in EVERYONE, look in the mirror. You NEVER call out a black person or democrats for racism, ONLY white Republicans. I didn't see the conversation, but disagree with such labels since they are part of the "heated rhetoric" mentioned before. I'm a moderate; "socially liberal, fiscally conservative". I don't care what you do just don't do it on my lawn or make me pay for it.

The extremists on both sides seek to tell everyone else how to live, what to think and what to believe. Disagreeing with them usually pisses them off. IMO, extremists are irrational and unAmerican.
