I'm white but when it comes to reparations, I see it as being more than just about slavery. There's that whole era of discrimination that went on after the end of reconstruction period.

As far as reparations in the form of cash, economic researchers cite that 97% to 99% of Black consumer spending ends up in the hands of non-Black corporations.

I've heard it said that the best investment one could make was to invest in yourself. Given that, programs such as the United Negro College Fund seem worthwhile. According to their website UNCF each year provides $62million in scholarships.

I'm Irish on both sides do I get reparations for the discrimination my ancestors experienced.

Why don't you white people who support reparations give up your worldly possession ? I'm sure there is a Black family that would love to live in your house, drive your car, and take your bank account or are you one of those people who think others should pay ?

Good point. We have a small portion of eastern Bantu from southern Africa. The rest is primarily UK and the Teutonic region.

Here's the thing, there are in America white descendants of slaves. Would they not also receive reparations? That would really tick some people off. And what about slave descendants whose families emigrated from the US generations ago? Should they not receive it as well? I agree, very complicated, and I believe unworkable.
