According to Georgia law, a person is justified in using force if they believe that said force is necessary to defend themselves.

He was trying to escape an armed, angry mob baying for his blood. Would You have preferred him to have stood his ground after defending himself from Rosenbaum’s unprovoked attack, firing until he ran out of ammo and the mob swarmed him under and beat him to death? Many people have been swarmed and beaten by mobs of “ protestors” in the last few decades. Even if he had three magazines and didn’t miss once, he would only have been able to shoot ninety attackers IF the mob allowed him time for magazine changes.
