I used to think that people could just choose to be gay, so I was shaking my head about why gay Christians exist. However, I recently had my mind changed and learned that people can be devout Christians and still be gay and just not act upon it so my question is why are people born gay if it's a sin? Where does homosexuality come from if God creates everybody?

Well, if you say that people are only gay because they are inspired by other gay people, then when did the first gay person come from? So, that does not make sense

But today that it is not also culturally mediated, since all men in ancient Sparta participated in gay sex, also seems wrong since they all could not have had the 'gay gene'

The answer I think is somewhere in between.

As for myself, I believe man is a fallen creature, and as such, is subject to dysfunction in all aspects of their existence, whether it be spiritual dysfunction or emotional or physical or sexual.

We are just all screwed up is all.

In Matthew 19:12 Jesus says that not everyone is born the same. He was speaking about men without a sexual attraction to women.

a really good question

and yes, gays dont choose to be gay

I just feel bad for people who are truly devoted to Christ but know that they can never find true love because of how obedient they are. I mean, I don't want this being shoved down my throat or down the throats of children but at the same time I'm sort of wondering why is this even a commandment anyways? I know that gay people can't procreate but if they want to be homosexual shouldn't God still let them? Who is it hurting?

I don't think that the average Christian would say that it is sinful to be attracted to what you should not be attracted too.

For example, heterosexual men are attracted to women married to other men. The question becomes, what do you do with that attraction? Do you entertain it, which would be a sin, or have sex with them, which would be a greater sin?

Humans are born sinners

I can't disagree. It reminds me of the prophet Jeremiah who God told not to take a wife.

That would be a bitter pill to swallow.

If one is born that way, how is it you can refuse how you were born?

Seems to me no one cares about that any longer.
