The simpler explanation is that we exist in the mind or imagination of God. What we believe is real, isn't.

That is an excellent explanation. I do know that what we believe is very important will be shown to be of very little real value when we review our lives with our Creator.

4. The Life Review of Howard Storm

Next, they wanted to talk about my life. To my surprise my life played out before me, maybe six or eight feet in front of me, from beginning to end.

The life review was very much in their control, and they showed me my life, but not from my point of view. I saw me in my life and this whole thing was a lesson, even though I didn’t know it at the time. They were trying to teach me something, but I didn’t know it was a teaching experience, because I didn’t know that I would be coming back. We just watched my life from beginning to the end. Some things they slowed down on, and zoomed in on and other things they went right through.

My life was shown in a way that I had never thought of before. All of the things that I had worked to achieve, the recognition that I had worked for, in elementary school, in high school, in college, and in my career, they meant nothing in this setting.

I could feel their feelings of sorrow and suffering, or joy, as my life’s review unfolded. They didn’t say that something was bad or good, but I could feel it. And I could sense all those things they were indifferent to. They didn’t, for example, look down on my high school shot-put record. They just didn’t feel anything towards it, nor towards other things which I had taken so much pride in.

If you will study near death experience accounts
I don't need to "study" them. I have had plenty of my own dreams and nightmares in my almost 80-years of life. Some are easy to decipher and others not but NO ONE knows if they mean anything other than the obvious. The idea of "near death" being a window to the afterlife is a hoax.

People Have Near-Death Experiences While Brain Dead

by Kevin WilliamsPosted on September 21, 2019

1. About Dr. Michael Sabom’s NDE Research

Dr. Michael Sabom is a cardiologist whose book entitled Light and Death includes a detailed medical and scientific analysis of an amazing near-death experience (NDE) of a woman named Pam Reynolds (1956–2010). In 1991, at the age of 35, Reynolds underwent a rare operation to remove a giant basilar artery aneurysm in her brain that threatened her life. The size and location of the aneurysm, however, precluded its safe removal using the standard neuro-surgical techniques. She was referred to a neurosurgeon, Dr. Robert F. Spetzler, of the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, who had pioneered a daring surgical procedure known as deep hypothermic cardiac arrest. It allowed Pam’s aneurysm to be excised with a reasonable chance of success. This operation, nicknamed “standstill” by the doctors who perform it, required that Pam’s body temperature be lowered to 60 degrees, her heartbeat and breathing stopped, her brain waves flattened, and the blood drained from her head. In everyday terms, she was put to death. After removing the aneurysm, she was restored to life.

At the bottom of this page is a link to many articles on the "Triggers" of a near death experience.

No, I fully respect your interest in it [and I have no doubt that it is interesting] but I have my feet planted firmly on the ground. If there is an afterlife then it can consist of anything at all - wonderful or horrifying - but I have a sort of faith (don't quote me :)) that whatever happens will happen. Do I have any proof that being a "nice guy" [towards nice people] will serve me well once I am dead? No, I have no proof of that but being a nice guy makes me feel good about myself and if I am rewarded or punished for it there is nothing I can do about it. So, when I say that I have faith what I really mean is "hope" and it does not include superstition, hokus-pokus, or insight afforded by dreams and nightmares. I, personally, consider that false hope. :26:

Perhaps the idea of you and all of us having an ideal "soul mate" will grab your attention?

[John J. Davis near death experiencer] :

Weeping Willows

Right about then, I looked over to my left and there was this huge sprawling window, and I could see outside. This was the first time, I think, that I saw or was aware of other people. There was a pathway that people were walking on, and it was a very busy walkway with lots of people walking back and forth. People have asked me, what do we look like over there, do we have bodies? We absolutely do. They look just like we do, but the bodies over there are better. They don’t get sick, they don’t get injured, they don’t have any problems. They are perfect bodies.

On the other side of this walkway, I saw the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It was a lake. The other side is full of nature. There are mountains and oceans and lakes and rivers. Anything that is beautiful here on Earth is on the other side, and it’s even more beautiful there. The lake was a big, round lake, and the surface looked like glass. The water was so clear, I could see the bottom. All around the lake were weeping willow trees with branches that were touching and floating on the water. It was absolutely beautiful.

I could see all these people walking by, and I could see this gorgeous lake. Then my guide took me to another area of this building.

It was a huge library. That’s the only way I can describe it. All the books looked the same. They looked like Encyclopedia Britannica books. All about two inches thick. What he was showing me is that all of us at creation were created with a soulmate. Back in 1987, when I had my NDE, I had never heard the term “soulmate.” I had no idea what that was. I didn’t even know there were near-death experiences at that time.

Apparently, when God created us, he created all of us with a perfect mate called a soulmate. And we all have books in this huge library. All of us have the name of our soulmate written on the binding of these books.

He took me to where my soulmate’s book was, and the writing said N-I-N-A. Nina. The writing didn’t go across; it went down. N-I-N-A, in gold-colored writing. What this book is, is it talks about all your soulmate’s lifetimes—what they learned, what their gifts are. Everything about that soulmate is in these books, and we all have one.

What I don’t know, though, is how often a soulmate comes into a lifetime with us. I think that my first inclination is that they probably don’t, but they can if they want to. I think the reason that, a lot of the time, they don’t is that if you had your soulmate with you in a lifetime, you wouldn’t learn as much because you would have your perfect mate.

One of the things that we learn the most from is having relationships in our lifetimes. We learn a lot by having those relationships.

That was the building with the big dome on top. It was absolutely gorgeous. We plan our lifetimes there. You write them out on these scrolls. You have soulmates.

I have to admit that this idea of our spirit or soul existing before we are even conceived really threw me for a loop at first.

I ran into this idea so often though in near death experience accounts since 1990, that I either had to reject NDE accounts totally or take the idea of our pre-existence seriously?

Now that I have looked into this idea more I do believe that we can all take great encouragement to even begin to imagine that we are on a mission in this life. We participated in choosing our parents, not necessarily just to maximize fun and happiness for ourselves, but sometimes we want to learn empathy for people who had really messed up parents, or perhaps a series of foster families, or the life of an orphan?

I do like the way that this was explained to near death experiencer John J. Davis.

THIS Happens When We Die! The MOST DETAILED Journey Through The Afterlife! EPIC NDE | John J Davis

Was a part of the Prophet Elijah somehow within John the Baptist?

It is better if you had never known the truth than to be standing where you are today.

Here are some Biblical verses and some verses from LDS scripture that indicate that we existed prior to coming to this earth and that we are the spirit children of our Heavenly Father:

Premortal Life

The life before earth life. All men and women lived with God as His spirit children before coming to the earth as mortal beings. This is sometimes called the first estate (Abr. 3:26).

  • When God laid the foundations of the earth, all the sons of God shouted for joy, Job 38:4–7.
  • The spirit shall return unto God who gave it, Eccl. 12:7.
  • Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, Jer. 1:4–5.
  • We are all his offspring, Acts 17:28.
  • God chose us before the foundation of the world, Eph. 1:3–4.
  • We are to be in subjection to the Father of spirits, Heb. 12:9.
  • The angels which kept not their first estate, he hath reserved in everlasting chains, Jude 1:6 (Abr. 3:26).
  • The Devil and his angels were cast out, Rev. 12:9.
  • They were called and prepared from the foundation of the world, Alma 13:3.
  • Christ looked upon the expanse of eternity and hosts of heaven before the world was made, D&C 38:1.
  • Man was also in the beginning with God, D&C 93:29 (Hel. 14:17; D&C 49:17).
  • Noble spirits were chosen in the beginning to be rulers in the Church, D&C 138:53–55.
  • Many received their first lessons in the world of spirits, D&C 138:56.
  • All things were created spiritually before they were on earth, Moses 3:5.
  • I made the world, and men before they were in the flesh, Moses 6:51.
  • Abraham saw the intelligences that were organized before the world was, Abr. 3:21–24.

Revelation 12:7-11
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

In these verses we read about the war in heaven and that Lucifer was cast out of heaven. Michael and his angels were those who sided with God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Dragon and his angels were Lucifer (Satan) and his followers. Those of us who were born into this mortal life with bodies of flesh and bones were among those who sided with the Father and Son. After Satan and his follower were cast out of heaven into the earth, we read about what happened to those who were Michael and his angels in verse 11. They had to overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimonies; and they loved not their lives unto the death. In other words, they became mortal and were subject unto death and needed the blood of the Lamb to overcome the Dragon. Who do you suppose these angels of Michael were?

Wow!!!!

Now that is an absolutely fascinating theory indeed!

That idea seems to fit with the dream that Jacob - Yacob dreamed about a ladder going up to heaven and angels coming down the ladder and going back up. Jesus said "one of you is a devil." Was Judas one of the fallen angels who rebelled with Satan incarnated into human flesh?

And when he was come to a certain place, and would rest in it after sunset, he took of the stones that lay there, and putting under his head, slept in the same place. 12 And he saw in his sleep a ladder standing upon the earth, and the top thereof touching heaven: the angels also of God ascending and descending by it; 13 And the Lord leaning upon the ladder, saying to him: I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac; the land, wherein thou sleepest, I will give to thee and to thy seed. 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and IN THEE and thy seed all the tribes of the earth SHALL BE BLESSED. 15 And I will be thy keeper whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee back into this land: neither will I leave thee, till I shall have accomplished all that I have said.

16 And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Indeed the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not. 17 And trembling he said: How terrible is this place! this is no other but the house of God, and the gate of heaven. 18 And Jacob, arising in the morning, took the stone, which he had laid under his head, and set it up for a title, pouring oil upon the top of it. 19 And he called the name of the city Bethel, which before was called Luza. 20 And he made a vow, saying: If God shall be with me, and shall keep me in the way by which I walk, and shall give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

I do not believe that any who sided with Lucifer in the pre-mortal life were allowed to gain bodies of flesh and bone. However, we are still going through trials of our faith in this life and some of us who were faithful in our pre-mortal life may choose to not follow Christ and after receiving so much from the Lord, Judas chose to go against the Lord and became a son of Perdition in this life. So he was faithful in his first estate but fell away in his second estate.

Thank you for these verses!

Near death experiencers are also reporting that this is true.

1. Introduction to Pre-Existence and NDEs

It is not unusual for people having near-death experiences (NDEs) returning from clinical death to report having received information concerning their pre-existence before they were conceived in the world. Some experiencers report of learning how they chose various aspects of their lives to be predestined before they were born. Some of the choices people have reported having chosen before birth include the selection of their birth parents, choosing their mission in life, and even choosing how they will die. This knowledge received by near-death experiencers of the past and future shows how some things in life are predestined while other things are not. It shows how free will and predestination both exist and work hand in hand. It means we choose our destiny in life before our birth into the world to live it. Because reincarnation is a concept found in many cultures and religions, the metaphor of life as a river which we chose before we were born, shows up in many of these cultures and religions. There are many aspects to a river which make it an excellent analogy to help us understand where we came from, where we’re going, who we are, why we’re here, and what life is all about. The following discussion will attempt to do just that.

I have to admit that this idea of our spirit or soul existing before we are even conceived really threw me for a loop at first.

I ran into this idea so often though in near death experience accounts since 1990, that I either had to reject NDE accounts totally or take the idea of our pre-existence seriously?

I believe the children of God's people have guardian angels protecting them up until a certain age. After that they are sanctified by righteous parents. After they are of age Satan is free to 'devour' them if he (it) can.

Wow!

From fifty years of researching The Bible and spirituality I have to admit that your theory has a lot of evidence that will sure fit with this idea!

Although I went with "No", I don't completely write off the possibility of reincarnation.

I had a hard time believing in it myself until I ran into the Dr. Ian Stevenson research. Once I read that they certain verses in the Jewish and Christian scriptures took on new potential meaning.

2. Introduction to Dr. Ian Stevenson’s Research

Ian Stevenson

Dr. Stevenson’s reincarnation research began in 1960 when he learned of a case in Sri Lanka where a child reported remembering a past life. He thoroughly questioned the child and the child’s parents, including the people whom the child recalled were his parents from his past life. This led to Dr. Stevenson’s conviction that reincarnation was possibly a reality. That same year, Dr. Stevenson published two articles in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research about this child who remembered having a past life. The more such cases he discovered, the greater became his ambition to scientifically quantify the possibility of reincarnation – one of the world’s greatest mysteries – which had been virtually ignored by science in the past.

In 1982, Dr. Stevenson co-founded the Society for Scientific Exploration. He authored around 300 papers and 14 books on the subject of reincarnation. His 1966 book, “Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation,” became a classic in the annals of reincarnation research. In 2003, Dr. Stevenson published his second book on reincarnation, “European Cases of the Reincarnation Type“. In 1997 he published his major classic: the 2,268-page, two-volume book, “Reincarnation and Biology: A Contribution to the Etiology of Birthmarks and Birth Defects,” which focused mostly on deformities and other anomalies children are born with which cannot be traced back to inheritance, prenatal or perinatal (created during birth) occurrences. This monumental classic contains hundreds of pictures presenting the evidence he discovered. It documents 200 cases of children having memories and birthmarks which corresponded with the lives and wounds of deceased people whom these children recalled as having lived in a past-life. In 1997, Dr. Stevenson published a condensed version of this book for the general public entitled, “Where Reincarnation and Biology Intersect.” Dr. Stevenson’s research into reincarnation also became the subject of two important works, “Old Souls: Compelling Evidence from Children Who Remember Past Lives” authored by Tom Shroder (a Washington Post journalist) and “Life Before Life: Children’s Memories of Previous Lives” authored by Dr. Jim B. Tucker (www.jimbtucker.com) a psychiatrist at the University of Virginia. Many people, including skeptics and scholars, agree that the cases presented by Dr. Stevenson offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation.

Yes.... and the "wiggly" that gets the ova may be
able to give the foetus the exact DNA that is best to produce the exact human that is in the mind of The Ancient of Days the Father.......

Who in a way is doing a massive Reality Film series starring all eight billion of us......
and The Tempter, Satan, The Devil.... does have his armies as well.......

so ultimately what was shown to Pastor Rick Joyner is being worked out......

I am of the belief that Rick Joyner is a "Christian Literary Genius" comparable to C. S. Lewis..... but it is not because of his high IQ.....

it is because Jesus had mercy on Rick Joyner and showed him a lot about what is happening behind the scenes now.....

The Message from the Patriarch Adam to all Mankind is a work of art.......
that has the potential to shift the way that many of us approach life.....

Love Releases Life

Another man who looked almost exactly like Abel came and stood beside him.

“I am Adam,” he said. “I was given authority over the earth, but I gave it to the evil one by obeying evil. He now rules in my place and your place. The earth was given to man, but the evil one has taken it. The authority I lost was restored by the cross. Jesus Christ is ‘the last Adam,’ and He will soon take His authority and rule. He will rule through mankind because He gave the earth to mankind. Those who live in your times will prepare the earth for Him to rule.”

“Please tell me more,” I asked, a little surprised to see Adam, but wanting to hear everything he had to say. “How do we prepare for Him?”

“Love,” he said. “You must love one another. You must love the earth, and you must love life. My sin released the death that now flows as rivers upon the earth. Your love will release rivers of life. When evil reigns, death is stronger than life, and death prevails over life. When righteousness reigns, life prevails, and life is stronger than death. Soon the life of the Son of God will swallow up the death that was released through my disobedience. It is not just living that you must love, but life. Death is your enemy. You are called to be a messenger of life.

“When the Lord’s people begin to love, He will use them to release His judgments. His judgments are to be desired. The whole world is groaning and travailing as it waits for His judgments, and when they come, the world will learn righteousness. What He is about to do, He will do through His people, and His people will stand as Elijah in the last days. Their words will shut up the heavens or bring rain; they will prophesy earthquakes and famines, and they will come to pass; they will stop famines and earthquakes.

“When they release armies in the heavens, armies will march on the earth. When they hold back armies, there will be peace. They will decide where He shows mercy and where He shows His wrath. They will have this authority because they will love, and those who love will be one with Him. What you will see through that door is to help prepare you for what He is about to do through His people.

“I know authority. I also know the responsibility of authority. Because of the great authority that I was given, I am responsible for what has happened to the earth. Even so, the grace of God began to cover me, and God’s great redemption will soon swallow up my mistake. Peace will be taken from the earth, but you are called to help restore it. Peace prevails in heaven, and you are called to bring heaven to earth. Those who abide in His presence will know peace and will spread peace.

“The earth itself will shake and tremble. Times of trouble greater than have ever been known will begin to move across the earth like great waves of the sea. Even so, those who know Him will not be troubled. They will stand before the raging of the seas and say, ‘Peace, be still’ and the seas will be calm. Even the least of His little ones will be like a great fortress of peace that will stand through all that is coming. His glory will be revealed to His people first and then through them. Even the creation will recognize Him in His people and will obey them as it does Him.

“This is the authority that I had, and it will be given to mankind again. I used my authority to turn Paradise into a wilderness. The Lord will use His authority to turn the wilderness into Paradise again. This is the authority that He is giving to His people. I used mine wrongly and death came. When His authority is used in righteousness, it will release life. Be careful how you use authority. With authority comes responsibility. You, too, can use it wrongly, but you will not do this if you love. As all of heaven knows, ‘Love never fails.”

“What about the earthquakes, famines and even wars that you said we would release on the earth? Won’t this be releasing death?” I asked.

“All the death that is coming upon the world is being allowed to prepare the way for life. Everything that is sown must be reaped, unless those who have sown evil call upon the cross in Spirit and truth. The army of the cross is about to be released, and it will march in the power of the cross, carrying the offer of mercy to all. Those who reject the mercy of God have rejected life.”

“That is a great responsibility,” I said. “How do we know when they have rejected His mercy?”

[Rick Joyner, The Call] :

I personally have read and reread "The Call" because it answer so many of my own bigger questions.
