Many cultures have religion with only oral tradition to support it. The Bible is history, prophecy, wisdom, and religious instruction in one place, meant for a modern, literate people. It is also timeless, with warnings not to alter it in any way.

I donate a generous amount monthly, via automatic withdrawal, to a maternity home that gives a new mother two years of care once she has made the decision to keep her baby instead of killing it. Housing, feeding, clothing, spiritual care, education and life skills classes, plus guidance towards opportunities for employment once the and her baby have graduated out of the program.

And after I'm dead, the home will inherit an amount of assets from me that made their eyes bug out.

Everyone in my church donates via the K of C to programs that provide needy moms with clothing and food, as well as seeing to the needs of disabled students in our small town's K-12.
