There are lunatics on the fringe of both parties who will moblize themselves. Take for instance the attacking of court buildings and police stations all summer in 2020 .... it went on for months and actually they were given aid and moral support from Democrat lawmakers , who refused for those months to tell people to stand down, simply calling it peaceful protest. Trump was a few hours slow.... Democrats were a few months slow to do anything. I think we can compare interesting defenses here.
