Two percent of Albertans are Latter day Saints and Latter day Saints could theoretically save Canada's NDP from angry young Atheists!
Here is a discussion especially for Latter day Saint Trumpers....
Wow!
This is an extremely interesting argument I must admit.
I also have to admit that I personally am a truly flawed human being and I find this entire topic somewhat troubling. I became an Atheist around the time that I was about eight to ten years of age. I heard Dr. Billy Graham preach a hellfire and brimstone sermon on TV around 1966 and i got deeply offended by the idea of hell.
By 1972 or 1973 I heard Evangelist Garner Ted Armstrong on TV. He convinced me of the Soul Sleep doctrine and thus he got past my deepest offence with my Creator and I began to study the Jewish and Christian Bible.
From 1972 to around 1990 I regarded Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong as something like my "Pope." I even wondered if he could perhaps be one of the "Two Witnesses" of The Book of Revelation? When he passed on in January of 1986 I had no choice but to do some serious thinking about that possibility.
I read an article in Psychology Today in 1990 that got me researching the writings of Dr. Raymond Moody on near death experiences. I concluded that Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong had been terribly incorrect on his teachings on the State of the Dead and therefore he could not possibly be "The Final Elijah" or one of the Two Witnesses of the Book of Revelation.
As I began to church hop from denomination to denomination in search of somebody who could actually perhaps be one of the Two Witnesses I did eventually conclude that the Latter day Saints church as well as the Roman Catholic Church seem to have some of the best and most accurate teachings on the dead of any large Christian church, [that I can find anyway]?
So since 2018 I have been mentored by fourteen or more Latter day Saint Elders, [and even by two Sisters during Covid through the internet]. I do believe that the Latter day Saint Community is all set up to play a massive role in what Pastor David Wilkerson predicted was being raised up. "The Super Church."
I believe that one of the positive things that can be said about The Super Church is that it will have very good teachings on The State of the Dead, much as the Latter day Saints certainly do, and also the Roman Catholic Church has extremely good teachings on the State of the Dead.
OneFour1... I would like to give you a suggestion on how your Latter day Saints can use the prediction of the Super Church to lead a huge number of people to Messiah Yeshua Jesus? The idea is simple.... your thirteen Apostles of the Latter day Saint sixteen million or so strong community go into a different mode of teaching. Have some of your Elders and Sisters getting into the Book of Mormon for the potential new members that want it but have other pairs of Elders or Saints, [or perhaps one of each pair who specializes in how near death experience accounts do fit with The Jewish and Christian scriptures]? I know that I know that I know that Latter day Saint Elders and Sisters can do a brilliant job of tackling this topic and.....
.... when you are talking with Baptists and Lutherans you can advise them on how they can perhaps prevent a massive falling away of Baptists and Lutherans and Seventh Day Adventists as the truth about the State of the Dead becomes more and more clear, [which will certainly prove that Latter day Saints and Roman Catholics do have impressive and highly accurate teachings on The State of the Dead].
OneFour1..... what I am writing here as well as in this other discussion is highly relevant to your Thirteen or So Leading Prophets and President of the Latter day Saint community.
In the Bible we read of the priesthood through Aaron and the Melchizedek priesthood. Jesus seems to have found priesthood authority essential else why would he call twelve apostles? We also read of other offices of the priesthood in scripture such as elders, priests, deacons, and seventy. According to the apostle Paul, there was to be priesthood authorities on earth in all ages until we come to a unity of the faith and unto the perfect man in Christ. Here is what he has said:
Ephesians 4:11-15
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some...
