I know what you mean. I saw that local sources report most accurately, though. Again, there was no "rebel" offensive that wasn´t accompanied by western media news foreseeing the soon fall of Assad. All their bs never turned out to be true.
I guess that the SAA forces were spread across the country and are now being amassed to confront the "rebels".

Yeah, this also may be true. But what was then and what is now may not be the same. Iran and Russia aren't so keen to be engaged in this war more than they are now (it is not about what they want, but more about what they can). Turkey seems to be ready. And that is what can outweigh.
