In the case of Pan-Arabism, there can only be one National Police or Gendarme. Most of all the Middle East is familiar with the concept. They would not confuse the Israeli Border Police for the IDF.

Not once has the Arab League Forces, even in a sneak attack scenario, has the IDF shown anything but valor and combat success. Rather than destroy the Egyptian 3rd Army while they had it encircled, they demilitarized it and allowed it to return to Egypt. There has been no armed force anywhere in the Arab League that has distinguished themselves more than the IDF.
Finally, most all clashes between Israeli Forces and the Arab Palestinian are a consequence of Hostile Arab Palestinians (HoAP) provocation or incitement to riot. The hardest part of Article 43 HR has been events regarding public disturbances and the response to programed demonstrations and unlawful gatherings.
Cowardice is when a band of Arab Palestinians stops a bus and kills all the unarmed adult passengers (mostly women) and an additional 13 children. Then has the gull to make a hero out of the leader of the renegades.
One day, the Arab Palestinians will have a "finest hour." But in the last 70 years, they haven't had one yet.
